The Quality Technician III/Material Review Board (MRB) Technician will be responsible for managing the identification, documentation, and resolution of non-conforming materials across all production, quality, and testing areas at the Spartanburg Plant. This technician will utilize the plant’s Manufacturing Execution System (MES) to document and track non-conforming items, ensuring they are properly reviewed, dispositioned, and resolved to maintain the integrity of the production process and overall product quality. MRB Technicians will conduct thorough inspections in accordance with approved work instructions, quality checklists, and control plans. This role involves daily coordination with production, quality, and engineering teams to support MRB activities, including participation in start-up and daily review meetings to communicate material non-conformance trends, status, and resolutions.

Essential Duties:

These duties are not meant to be all-inclusive, and other duties may be assigned.

  • Determine proper disposition of non-conforming items (rework, use-as-is, or scrap) in alignment with MRB guidelines
  • Perform thorough inspections of components, subassemblies, and finished vehicles to detect defects, deviations, and non-conformities
  • Review engineering drawings, and specifications to validate product conformity
  • Utilize the MES system software to record results and enter defects into the MES system for follow-up
  • When required, carry out mechanical rework operations (e.g., torque adjustments, fitting corrections) using hand and diagnostic tools
  • Serve as a key participant in MRB meetings with quality, production, engineering, and supply chain teams
  • Validate reworked components against quality standards before final approval
  • Contain suspect vehicles and perform inspections and tests, as needed
  • Other duties, as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior experience as a Rework Technician or in mechanical troubleshooting roles
  • Familiarity with hand tools, torque tools, calipers, micrometers, and gauges
  • Fundamental computer, math, and reading skills
  • Good ability to perform root cause analysis
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate with leadership and fellow team members in both written and verbal forms at a level above standard
  • Team-oriented

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Manufacturing Execution Software (MES) or a similar operational production control and recording system
  • At least 1 years’ experience as Manufacturing Review Board technician or 5-6 years in a multi-faceted quality role
  • ASQ, CQT certifications
  • Experience with ISO 9001-compliant calibration program
