Job Description

We are looking for a talented Quality Technician to join our team specializing in Quality for our Cummins Inc. facility in Forest City, NC

Assists in monitoring materials quality in processing plants and making the required adjustments; maintains and supports documentation and records. Works under close supervision.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

Ensure Quality Control: By comparing physical characteristics of components, materials, equipment, and products to technical specifications, you'll help identify defects and ensure only high-quality items move forward in the production process.

Enhance Product Reliability: Conducting tests on electrical functions and reliability will help ensure that products meet performance standards and function as intended.

Improve Packaging Standards: Testing packaging quality will ensure that products are well-protected during transportation and storage, reducing damage and returns.

Accurate Data Recording: By meticulously recording test results, you'll provide valuable data that can be used to improve processes and product quality.

Technical Reporting: Preparing simple technical reports will help communicate findings to other team members and stakeholders, facilitating informed decision-making.

Utilize Measurement Equipment: Your expertise in using a range of measurement equipment will ensure precise and accurate testing, contributing to overall product quality.

Support Continuous Improvement: Identifying defects and areas for improvement will support continuous improvement initiatives, leading to better products and processes over time.

Contribute to Team Success: Your role in testing and quality assurance will be crucial in maintaining high standards and supporting the overall success of the team and company.

Education, Licenses, Certifications:
• High school diploma or certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience to the extent such experience meets applicable regulations.
• This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience:
• Minimal or no work experience required.

  1. Change management
    • Production trials. (Work in coordination with scheduling team, Manufacturing team and quality engineers)
    • Measurement of test samples.
    • IMDS submission support.
  1. Production support
    • Issuing Quality alert.
    • Process audit
    • Product audit.
    • Daily offline inspection data reporting.
    • Weekly Scrap and Rework data reporting.
  1. QA Hold
    • Managing QA hold area. Updating the log on daily bases.
    • Transaction of material to QA hold.
  • Working with QE to disposition of material in QA hold.
  • SCRAP transactions
  1. Calibrations
    • Returning material to ASH for calibrations.
    • Calibration of DC tool support.

Base Pay: $19.50 - $22.58/hr
