This position is responsible for productivity of the manufacturing extrusion line(s) while fostering a work environment that supports safety, productivity, quality, teamwork, and the Reschcor company culture and core values.
Position Overview
The Quality Technician will support the activities of the Quality Department and production team in day-to-day manufacturing activities and issues with customers and suppliers.
Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Work directly with manufacturing to create, implement, and/or modify manufacturing processes to ensure the highest production efficiencies and part qualities are delivered to ALL customers.
Perform quality control inspections, checks, and tests throughout the entire product realization process in support of the Quality Management System (QMS).
Take full responsibility for the items that are located in the QC Hold area. Maintain accuracy of inventory, paperwork, and ensure prompt disposition and re-work of product.
Selects products for audit/test at specified stages in production process and test products for a variety of qualities such as dimensions, performance, color/visual/mechanical characteristics.
Uses metrology equipment. Calibrates gauges monthly per work instructions.
Completes excel spreadsheets and records all data.
Recommends modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality.
Sets up and performs destructive and nondestructive tests on materials, parts or products to measure performance, life or material characteristics.
Perform internal audits as required in production areas.
Identify issues and methods to reduce costs in manufacturing processes.
Perform root cause analysis as needed.
Implement and report on corrective actions.
Perform job in a safe manner, putting safety first.
QualificationsQualifications Include:
High School Diploma and 3 years of related manufacturing experience is required
Extra consideration will be given for plastics experience
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook
Strong communication skills
Strong blueprint reading skills
Ability to use metrology and statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality assurance practices
Have a basic understanding of the audit process including types of audits, planning, preparation, execution, reporting results, follow-up, and the ability to audit quality systems for deficiency identification and correction
Experience with ISO-9000 requirements
Must have strong analytical skills
Attention to detail
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
Travel
Occasional travel (local customers) may be required for this position.
