Our St. Joseph plant refines out the impurities and is able to clean, process and custom blend the animal proteins to the specifications of our customers.

Quality Technician

Job Type: Full-Time, On-Site

Position Overview

• Lab Quality Technician
• Starting Pay $22/hour
• Hours 6 am - 2:30 pm

What You'll Do

• Perform standardized tests on the product
• Notify production and management immediately when product is out of specification
• Assist in managing retain program
• Create retain samples for all inbound and outbound loads (for 6-month storage)
• Complete paperwork as directed using good documentation practices
• Monitor shared lab email inbox and make sure all emails are responded to in a timely manner
• Maintain a clean and orderly workspace
• Perform regular cleaning and maintenance on lab equipment
• Notify Lead and Quality Manager when supplies are running low
• Provide information to production staff and management when requested
• Communicate any safety or quality concerns with plant management and corporate quality
• Keep lab neat and clean
• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Experience, Education & Requirements

• H.S. Diploma or GED
• 1+ year laboratory experience
• Proficiency with Office 365 (primarily Excel, SharePoint, Outlook)
• Reliable, organized, efficient, and attention to detail
• Clear verbal communicator
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently
• Able to multi-task and prioritize
• Able to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to sit, stand, kneel, walk, reach, squat, push, pull, and climb stairs for extended periods of time
• Must be able to work from elevated surfaces and/or in confined spaces for extended periods of time
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
