Quality Technician

The Role:

The Quality Technician will create documentation and perform sampling, testing, calibration/verification, and in-process auditing activities. They will maintain records for calibrated instruments and defective equipment reports.

Additionally, you will request quotes for equipment repair, write purchase requests for equipment and services and develop and maintain Quality Metrics and Quality Records. They will perform preventive maintenance tasks for lab equipment while liaising between QA and Production Departments.


This position is located in La Vergne, Tennessee.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Receive and assist in processing Material Return Authorizations (MRAs).
  • Independently observes, measures, tests, analyzes, or otherwise inspects and verifies raw materials and finished products to ensure specifications are met.
  • Assist Quality Manager in identifying non-conformance causes and assists in non-conformance dispositioning by utilizing skills and technical research.
  • Completes Non-Conforming Material Reports (NCM).
    Use test equipment such as Multimeter, Thermogravimetric Analyzer,
  • Differential Scanning Calorimeter, Moisture Analyzer, Melt Flow Indexer, TensileTester, Precision Scales, HiPot Tester, and MegaOhm Meter to verify functional conformance of products and/or raw material components.
  • Use generalized or specific QC/Engineering test instructions, procedures, schematics, and layout drawings to check, test, and inspect components and finished products.
  • Use micrometers, calipers, and pin/plug gauges to inspect dimensional parameters and verify instruments.
    Complete required portions of the various inspection forms and reports while performing inspection and test procedures.

Requirements:

  • At least 2+ years of professional working experience; some formal trade or technical school is preferred, not required.
  • Proven working experience reviewing numerical calculations, reading and understanding technical instructions, and interpreting technical drawings, tables, and graphs.
  • Proven working experience defining problems, collecting data, establishing facts, and drawing valid conclusions.
  • Prior working experience using test equipment.
  • Prior working knowledge of mechanical measuring gauges.
  • Prior working experience with computer software applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint.
