Job Description

Ensuring Chart’s Success…

The New Iberia facility specializes in cold box assembly and fabrication, pressure vessels and other cryogenic equipment as used for the air separation and hydrocarbon industries. The end users of this equipment include all the major LNG, petrochemical and air separation engineering on a worldwide basis. The facility is located at the Port of Iberia.

What Will You Do?

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspect material for quality and quantity by completing dimensional checks once the material has been received.
  • Reject and notify management of defects.
  • Use policies and procedures of the Quality Manual to ensure proper welding procedures are being followed.
  • Plan for and cause system and document changes to agree with the requirements of ISO 9001 such that will achieve certification and will maintain certification thereafter.
  • Maintain a Job material traceability program and retain material tracing records for all jobs.
  • Oversee compliance with ASME requirements in manufacturing and welding.
  • Oversee inspection processes carried out by either Quality Control Department or Production personnel and maintain records resulting from such processes.
  • Oversee NDE processes and records.
  • Train or cause training of his directs reports and will supervise the activities and assignments of Quality Control personnel.
  • Maintain quality records for each project and be prepared to submit records to customer when requested.
  • Utilize American Society of Quality Control recommended procedures or equivalent to perform supplier audits for new and continuing suppliers for materials.
  • Maintain a log of calibration requirements and dates of calibration and periodic re-calibration for measuring tools.
  • Compile and issue Job Quality Assurance documents for each job and verify completion of the job documents, then archive the documents.
  • Oversee pressure testing of cold box systems and verify the results of the testing.
  • Oversee weld mapping, monitoring and weld testing for all products produced that require welding during manufacturing.
  • Maintain the corrective action program to include Non-Conformance Reports (NCR) and the results of frequent barrier code problems.
  • Maintain good customer relations and interface, not only with inspectors but with all other customer representatives.
  • Maintain annual Quality Control continuous improvement plan, organize teams, identify improvement opportunities, seek resolutions, measure the results monthly, and report progress to Plant Manager
  • Required to work at elevated heights up to 75ft.
  • Add’l duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
  • This position is classified as safety sensitive Due to the use of heavy machinery, power tools, and/or exposure to potentially hazardous conditions, the role requires heightened awareness and adherence to all safety protocols. Employees must be able to perform duties in a manner that ensures their own safety and the safety of others in the workplace

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ten years’ experience in related position
  • College degree preferred.
  • Education may be substituted by extended experience.
