Location: East Jordan, MI

The primary focus for this position is performing tasks related to the control and inspection of products. Quality Technicians also conduct inspections to ensure fire hydrants and water valve assemblies meet associated standards.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Establishes and maintains effective relationships with Managers, Supervisors and employees.
• Maintain and update quality inspection records.
• Inspect, test or measure products being produced.
• Remove all products that fail to meet specifications.
• Performs hourly quality checks in the machine shop along with checking hydrants and valves
• Processes samples that may come in, works with engineering group to run new scanner and CMM
• Assist maintenance as needed
• Assist assembly and machine departments as needed
• Performs quality checks, samples, quality process and procedural audits
• Inspect parts received from various vendors to ensure quality of parts received
• Work to resolve quality issues with vendors
• Assist Water Products employees with any quality related questions

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or GED required, Associate degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school preferred; and six months to one-year related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

• Prefer experience to read blueprints, technical documents, drawings and diagrams
• Prefer experience with Calipers, Micrometers, tape measure and other quality measurement tools
• Must have experience with Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Excellent decision-making skills
• Excellent communication skills
• Math skills
