Job Location: PHOENIX PAPER WICKLIFFE LLC - Wickliffe, KY 42087Phoenix Paper Wickliffe LLC is searching for qualified candidates to assume the role of Quality Lab Technician.

Summary: Reporting directly to the Quality Manager, the Quality Lab Technician performs physical quality tests and assists with inspection of paper from the Winder and Rewinders, and performs order management tasks. The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to working safe, good communication skills, a demonstrated ability to learn and work in a fast-paced environment, experience in a manufacturing environment, and a strong desire to succeed and advance in the company. This is an hourly, non-exempt position.
Key responsibilities of the Quality Lab Technician include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work in harmony with their crew and all associated departments.
- Perform all routine lab tests in accordance with work instructions in a timely manner.
- Perform non-routine lab tests by following special work instructions.
- Comprehend and understand information and test results that are generated.
- Communicate information and test results generated to the associated departments.
- Enter all test data and information into the proper system and use other computer transactions pertaining to the quality department.
- Perform routine calibration on lab instruments in accordance with work instructions.
- Enter calibration results into the calibration/ verification log.
- Use instruments and tools in safe and non-abusive manner.
- Keep the lab clean and orderly.
- Work as a Safety Champion when properly trained.
- Perform Order Management tasks;
- Make informal decisions about the paper machine run schedule, order shortages and overruns, winder retrim, and the rewinder schedule.
- Close completed runs.
- Run and understand Inventory Report.
- Move rolls to parent roll orders.
- Understand rewinder cutting guidelines.
- Understand how to trim rewinder runs.
General

Qualifications:
- Quality Control experience in an Industrial manufacturing setting is highly preferred.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to lift and move, push or pull up to 50lbs; navigate stairs; climb ladders; stand, walk, bend, and kneel throughout the entire shift.
- Ability to work in changing environments.
- Good time management skills.
- Possess attention to detail.
- Self-starter, with the ability to work independently and as a team member.
- Able to work a swing shift schedule.
