Job Description

Quality Technician (Power )– Electronics Manufacturing/Repairs.

Support product quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across electronic assembly and manufacturing operations.

Position Summary

The Quality Technician performs inspections, and quality assurance activities for electronic components, printed circuit board assemblies, subassemblies, and finished products. This role works closely with Manufacturing and Engineering to identify defects, maintain accurate records, support investigations, and ensure products meet drawings, specifications, procedures, customer requirements, and applicable quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, and final inspections of electronic components, printed circuit board assemblies, subassemblies, and finished products.
  • Verify workmanship and product conformity using drawings, bills of material, specifications, work instructions, inspection plans, and acceptance criteria.
  • Use measuring and test equipment such as calipers, micrometers, multimeters, microscopes, gauges, and other inspection tools.
  • Document inspection and test results accurately in quality records, databases, and production systems.
  • Identify, segregate, and document nonconforming material; initiate or support nonconformance reports and material review activities.
  • Assist with root cause investigations, corrective and preventive actions, defect trend analysis, and verification of corrective actions.
  • Support process audits, product audits, and qualification or validation activities.
  • Communicate quality issues promptly and collaborate with Production, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Quality personnel to resolve them.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, rework, scrap, and process variation.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least two years of electronics manufacturing, or related technical experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, bills of material, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Working knowledge of electronic components, printed circuit board assembly, soldering workmanship, and common manufacturing defects.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to enter, retrieve, and review quality data accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree or technical certificate in electronics, engineering technology, quality, or a related field.
  • Experience in CAPA, RCA, and corrective action systems.
  • Experience with SAP, WindChill, Agile

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

This position is based in an electronics manufacturing environment and may require extended periods of standing or sitting, frequent use of a microscope and computer, handling small components, and wearing required personal protective equipment or electrostatic discharge protection. The employee must be able to perform close visual inspection and safely lift and move materials consistent with site requirements. Reasonable accommodations may be provided to enable qualified individuals to perform the essential functions.
