Cara is looking for a Quality Systems and Assurance Officer to join our Quality & Safeguarding team and help strengthen quality, compliance, assurance and continuous improvement across our organisation on a full-time basis.

The role supports Cara’s quality management and regulatory assurance systems, including maintaining SharePoint and Power BI reporting tools, coordinating audit readiness, undertaking risk-based reviews and supporting accurate reporting to management and governance stakeholders.
About the role
Key Responsibilities:
• Maintain and improve Power BI dashboards, SharePoint Business Unit Lists, registers and reporting tools, ensuring data is accurate, reliable and supports effective decision-making.
• Analyse quality, compliance and assurance data and prepare clear dashboards, reports, briefings and submissions that identify performance, trends, risks, exceptions and opportunities for improvement.
• Coordinate internal and external audit and regulatory readiness, including NDIS audits, certification and regulatory reviews, and maintain evidence maps, trackers, response logs and supporting documentation.
• Undertake and coordinate allocated internal audits, risk-based assurance reviews and regulatory activities across client houses, service locations, records, systems and business processes.
• Monitor findings, corrective and improvement actions, including overdue and repeat actions, assess closure evidence and escalate material or unresolved matters as required.
• Prepare, coordinate and, where delegated, submit regulatory notifications, reports, responses and supporting documentation, while working with operational and corporate teams to ensure accurate evidence and reporting.
• Support Cara’s quality management system and continuous improvement, including document management, privacy and information handling, records and archiving, and identifying opportunities to streamline, standardise and automate processes.
About you
• Experience in quality systems, assurance, auditing, compliance or regulatory readiness, ideally within a complex service environment.
• Strong analytical skills and experience using tools such as Power BI, SharePoint Lists and Excel to analyse, validate and present data, identify trends and risks, and produce meaningful reports and dashboards.
• Experience supporting or coordinating audits, assurance reviews or regulatory activities, including evidence collection, action tracking, stakeholder follow-up and assessment of findings.
• Knowledge of registered NDIS provider obligations and relevant Practice Standards and Quality Indicators, including Supported Independent Living Practice Standards, or the ability to develop this knowledge quickly.
• Experience interpreting legislation, regulatory requirements, standards and policies and translating them into practical assurance/reporting requirements.
• Strong report writing, presentation and visual communication skills, with sound judgement, attention to detail and the ability to assess evidence objectively and identify issues.
• Excellent organisation, communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A relevant qualification in quality, assurance, auditing, compliance, data analytics, governance, disability or community services, records or information management, or a related field is desirable, or equivalent substantial experience.
