Job Description

We are looking for a talented Quality System Technician to join our team in Darlington, UK.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

  • Apply quality tools and methodologies to strengthen product and process quality, ensuring compliance with ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AIAG core tools, and customer-specific requirements.
  • Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System by owning accurate documentation, audit records, and process information within eQMS systems.
  • Monitor, report, and drive resolution of Material Non‑Conformances (MNCs), Product Non‑Conformances (PNCs), and Supplier Corrective Action Requests (SCARs).
  • Manage measurement and calibration requirements for tooling and inspection equipment across the DEP campus to ensure ongoing compliance and reliability.
  • Support external audits and certification activities, working closely with audit teams to maintain required quality accreditations.
  • Plan, perform, and lead internal audits (QMS, manufacturing process, and product audits) using a process‑based and risk‑based approach, issuing non‑conformances and opportunities for improvement as required.
  • Lead and support root cause analysis (3P‑5Whys), ensuring corrective actions are implemented effectively and sustained.
  • Build quality capability across the business by delivering training on QMS processes, AIAG core tools, and quality systems, contributing to a strong quality culture.

To be successful in this role, you will need the following:

  • Knowledge of quality standards and requirements, including ISO 9001, IATF 16949, AIAG core tools, and customer-specific requirements, within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience planning, performing, and leading audits using process‑based auditing and risk‑based thinking.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders, deliver training, and work cross‑functionally.
  • A continuous improvement mindset, with the ability to identify gaps, lead corrective actions, and drive accountability.

Education/Experience:

  • Associate degree or equivalent relevant business or manufacturing experience.
  • IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 Internal Auditor trained.
  • Trained in or willingness to work toward AIAG core tools (APQP, PPAP, SPC, FMEA, and MSA).
  • Six Sigma Green Belt trained, or willingness to work toward certification.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting QMS, manufacturing process, and product audits, leading root cause analysis, and supporting quality documentation and training activities.

The compensation for this role is aligned with a local bargained or unionised agreement
