• Monday thru Friday schedule, onsite.
• Monday thru Thursday schedule, supporting 10-hour shifts.
• Friday thru Saturday schedule, supporting 12-hour shifts.
• Monday thru Friday daytime schedule with additional limited off hour calls as needed to
provide support across three shifts.

The Quality Supervisor leads and coordinates the routine daily work assignments of front-line quality technicians and quality specialists. They are a subject matter expert responsible for the development of the technicians, as well as the execution of the quality program. The position is responsible for implementing procedures and process control techniques that identify, analyze, and resolve quality problems that ensures compliance with the Quality Management System (QMS).

  • Lead the assigned plant’s quality management program, to ensure successful completion of critical process, QMS, and customer audits.

  • Lead, coordinate, and supervise work assignments to optimize the utilization of people, machines, materials, and processes to meet requirements, compliance, and operating cost objectives.
  • Ensures proper information and reports are provided to local plant and corporate management.
  • Coordinate activities to resolve customer problems and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and direct key improvement projects to continuously improve department performance.
  • Assist in coordinating all activities necessary to implement quality improvement plans, new tooling and new processes.
  • Develop a quality improvement plan for the assigned plant and partner with leadership for implementation.
  • Demonstrate regular attendance and timeliness in reporting to work, meetings, and completing assignments.
  • Ability to work and interact well with others.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Lead, coordinate, and supervise plant audits of internal quality systems, processes, products, and supplied materials, to assess quality levels and provide feedback/follow-up for improvement.
  • Evaluate material received from supplier(s) and coordinate any improvements to material with the purchasing department and supplier(s).

JOB QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Associate degree, or certificate in a manufacturing or technical related field (such as engineering or quality) or equivalent experience is required. Bachelor degree in technical field is preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 4 years of technical or manufacturing experience, if degreed. Minimum of 6 years of technical or manufacturing experience, of which 2 years are in a supervisory or leadership role, of non-degreed.

Required Skills

  • Intermediate PC skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Working knowledge of applied statistics and statistical methods used in quality functions.
  • Knowledge of basic quality improvement and management tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings/specifications.
  • Working knowledge of IATF, AS, or ISO quality management systems.
  • Working knowledge and demonstrated application of AIAG or ASQ industry standard quality toolsets.
  • Ability to accurately measure using precision metrology tools.

Preferred Skills

  • Proficiency with quality tools used for problem solving and quality improvement.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as a leader and teacher to facilitate team improvements and lead quality initiatives.
  • Company product and application knowledge.
  • Applicable American Society of Quality (ASQ) certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification.
  • Certified Welder Inspector (CWI) certification.

SPECIAL DEMANDS

  • Navigating the manufacturing floor to work with process operators and monitor process performance.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity required for using gauges and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to visually recognize color.
