The Quality Supervisor plays a key role in ensuring that the plant’s products, processes, and people consistently meet the highest standards of quality, reliability, and compliance. This position oversees daily quality operations, supports the execution of the plant’s Quality Assurance System, and ensures alignment with SKF Group policies, customer requirements, and industry standards such as AS9100.

You will lead and develop a team of quality technicians and inspectors, guide containment and problem solving activities on the shop floor, and maintain strong partnerships across production, engineering, and supply chain. This role requires a balance of hands on oversight, disciplined process management, and the ability to translate complex quality requirements into practical, sustainable practices. Quality Supervisor ensures that quality is embedded into every stage of manufacturing and that the organization continuously improves its performance and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

A. Quality Operations & Oversight

  • Manage Incoming Quality Inspection and support factory based Supplier Quality activities.
  • Supervise End of Line (EOL) inspection resources, processes, data collection, and shop floor level problem solving efforts across production lines.
  • Lead and coordinate shop floor process containment activities to address nonconformances quickly and effectively.
  • Maintain resources and oversight of the Records Room, including process improvements to meet specialized documentation requirements.
  • Ensure all products meet internal Quality System requirements and customer reliability standards.
  • Provide training and training materials to other departments as needed.

B. Quality Systems, Compliance & Documentation

  • Lead and maintain certification to the AS9100 standard and associated programs.
  • Direct ongoing review and improvement of the Quality System, including updates to procedures and documentation.
  • Lead all customers, SKF, and external Quality System audits; ensure documentation is accurate and audit ready.
  • Oversee creation of Certificates of Conformance and ensure robust, compliant processes.
  • Maintenance of Core Documents such as PFMEA, Control Plans, Single Point Lessons

C. Customer & Supplier Quality

  • Manage factory returns, including customer complaints (TERs, DERs), RGAs, and Vendor returns.
  • Review customer feedback to identify trends and determine areas requiring Quality System emphasis.
  • Communicate with internal team members and suppliers to resolve quality issues and support continuous improvement.
  • Support the Customer and Vendor Manager in establishing inspection standards that meet company requirements

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management, or a related technical field; equivalent practical experience and specialized training may be considered.
  • 5–7 years of relevant Quality Assurance experience, including at least 3 years in a supervisory or team lead capacity.
  • Broad and in depth knowledge of manufacturing processes, quality control methods, and related technologies.
  • Basic data analysis skills are recommended.
  • Strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
  • Eligible to work in the US
