We empower employees to take on challenging assignments and roles with an elevated level of responsibility in our agile working environment. Our people make us who we are, and we create incredible products and experiences that empower us to THINK OUTSIDE.

You will lead and support quality and cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturing processes meet internal and external safety and quality standards. In this role, you will oversee quality activities across areas such as welding, tube bending, laser cutting, and hole piercing, while collaborating with engineering, operations, and production teams. You will drive both proactive improvements and reactive problem resolution to address quality issues impacting production. This role offers the opportunity to influence manufacturing quality outcomes, lead people, and contribute directly to process and product excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate quality efforts across production, engineering, and operations teams to meet safety and quality expectations.

  • Serve as the primary liaison to production supervisors and staff, supporting troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for quality issues.

  • Plan and coordinate quality control engineering assignments, including scheduling work for technicians, inspectors, and entry-level engineers.

  • Ensure compliance with quality standards across internal operations and external suppliers.

  • Support new product development activities, including start-ups, tooling validation, and supplier certification processes.

  • Develop, implement, and maintain inspection criteria, testing methods, and process control documentation for critical product features.

  • Analyze production limitations and recommend specification or process changes to improve quality outcomes.

  • Assist in developing and refining quality control policies, procedures, and systems.

  • Evaluate quality performance data and implement improvements to processes and objectives.

  • Provide training, mentoring, and development for quality technicians and team members.

  • Manage assigned resources within approved budget parameters while maintaining safety and 5S standards.

Desired Competencies:

  • Leadership: You inspire, guide, and empower others to achieve their best by setting clear direction, fostering trust, and creating an environment where people feel supported, motivated, and accountable for delivering results.

  • Problem Solving: You identify issues, assess root causes, and implement practical solutions that balance speed, quality, and risk.

  • Collaboration: You work effectively with others across functions and levels, contributing to shared goals while respecting different perspectives.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Operations, or related field required.

  • Experience in quality, process engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience in automotive or similar assembly manufacturing environments preferred.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of quality tools and methodologies such as PFMEA, control plans, RCCA (8D), CAPA, DOE, gage R&R, and PPAP.

  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings and apply GD&T principles.

  • Experience with quality management systems and product failure analysis.

  • Leadership experience overseeing or supporting hourly employees.

  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to travel up to 10% as required for business needs.
