This job is responsible for testing and delivering complex software to accomplish business outcomes. The job establishes testing scope and coordinates test execution. Key responsibilities of the job include overseeing testing practices ensuring that software is tested to meet functional, non-functional and compliance requirements, conditioning and generating test data, building and executing both manual and automated test suites, recording and communicating the test results, triage defects, and ensuring regression test suites are maintained and well designed.

Responsibilities:

  • Develops detailed, comprehensive and well-structured test cases based on functional, non-functional, and compliance requirements
  • Leads test planning, usually at a team level. When part of a Scrum team, ensure stories are well refined and contain clear acceptance criteria
  • Leads test case reviews and work with subject matter experts and stakeholders to ensure test coverage
  • Identifies automation opportunities and develop test automation for applicable test types
  • Executes test cases, including manual and automated tests, and record test results
  • Designs test data and ensure data compliance requirements are met on all levels of test environments
  • Uses testing tools and follow processes to complete testing on a given test environment, and perform necessary steps required to promote code base to higher level environments

  • Ensures the testing strategy and processes are well-defined and continuously improved for the team or teams. Able to handle multiple QA teams and cross functionality.
  • Establishes a test and automation strategy, creating common test frameworks, defining and managing test processes including test data generation, defect management and reporting.
  • Creates and optimizes test processes including defect management and reporting. Contributes to building quality into the SDLC using best practices and tools. Creates a test automation strategy across the application stack (UI, API, and Backend, etc.).
  • Creates and optimizes test automation frameworks and use of test automation tools. Leads test planning for complex features that span across the platform or multiple teams.
  • Ensures alignment and sign off for test cases from business and other stakeholders. Optimizes test suites employing techniques such risk-based testing. Manages test execution and assists with resolving, communicating or escalating any issues that may result in test plan variance.
  • Contributes to test data management approach, processes and tools. Conditions and generates test data and ensure data compliance requirements are met on all levels of test environments.
  • Reports issues and defects along with the appropriate background information for review. Participates in triaging reported issues/defects and assists with resolving or escalating them as necessary.
  • Creates and manages traceability. Traces tests forwards/backwards through the development lifecycle and back to requirements. Uses testing tools and follows processes to complete testing in a given test environment and assists with fulfillment of necessary steps required to promote code base to higher level environments.

Required Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of hands on experience in reference data space, especially for Client Onboarding highly preferred
  • Proven experience with ALM, JIRA, qTest and Automation Tools
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with quick adaptation to new technologies, methodologies, and systems
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills with the ability to convey message to a broad audience
  • Ability to work in a cross functional, collaborative team environment
  • Seeks out best practices to find opportunities for improvements in test execution process

Desired Qualifications:

  • Strong ETL and Database Query building skills
  • Experience with Test Automation, scripting and Regression testing.
  • Experience with defect management systems such as JIRA.
  • Waterfall and Agile methodologies
