Quality Specialist

We are seeking a Quality Specialist to join our pharmaceutical manufacturing operations team. This role focuses on ensuring compliance with rigorous quality standards throughout manufacturing processes, with particular emphasis on operational excellence and maintenance-related quality requirements.

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Ensure facilities team and contractors follow all contract requirements, client procedures, and FDA regulations.
  • Collaborate directly with client quality staff to ensure proper procedures and documentation are followed.
  • Track key metrics and provide regular progress reports to management.
  • Guide operation teams, vendors and service providers to meet quality expectations and requirements.
  • Ensure all work meets or exceeds client expectations and creates measurable value
  • Develop strong working relationships with client teams and internal staff to promote trust and best practices.
  • Share knowledge, lessons learned, and successful approaches across all account teams.
  • Conduct audits and create SOPs and training materials for the facilities team
  • Maintain quality assurance and engineering programs for pharmaceutical facility maintenance operations.
  • Advise and train team members in quality standards and procedures
  • Provide direct supervision and support in operational areas
  • Complete other tasks and projects as assigned by management

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 4 years’ direct experience in quality assurance within FDA-regulated manufacturing environments.
  • Proven ability to create, review, and maintain technical documentation and procedures.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of cross-functional teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with technical, quality, and operations personnel.
  • Strong commitment to quality excellence and proven ability to promote quality-first culture in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with Quality Engineering techniques, Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), and Quality Management Systems.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to investigate issues, recognize trends, and diagnose patterns in quality data.
  • Solid understanding of current Good Manufacturing Practices as they relate to facilities maintenance, utilities, and equipment used in pharmaceutical manufacturing.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Sciences, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Professional certifications in quality assurance (ASQ, Six Sigma, etc.)
  • Experience with pharmaceutical equipment validation and qualification processes

Location:

Onsite – Juncos, Puerto Rico

Work Shift:

This role operates on a staggered rotating schedule designed to support 24/7 oversight of Environmental Facilities Services. Scheduled workdays will vary and may include weekends and holidays (e.g., Thursday–Monday rotations) based on business needs.

Physical Requirements:

The incumbent must be able to frequently walk throughout the facility, stand for extended periods, and occasionally lift and/or move items up to 25 lbs. The role may require navigating manufacturing, laboratory, and support areas as part of routine oversight activities.

Estimated compensation for this position:

55,000.00 – 60,000.00 USD per year

This range is an estimate and actual compensation may differ. Final compensation packages are determined by various considerations including but not limited to candidate qualifications, location, market conditions, and internal considerations.

This position does not provide visa sponsorship. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
