The Opportunity

The Quality Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of product and process quality within HITACHI ENERGY INDIA LIMITED. This role involves implementing, maintaining, and improving quality management systems to meet company objectives and customer requirements.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality control processes and procedures in line with HITACHI ENERGY's global quality standards and local regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and audits on products, processes, and systems to identify non-conformities and areas for improvement.
  • Analyze quality data, identify trends, and generate reports to provide insights into quality performance and recommend corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Investigate customer complaints and internal quality issues, determine root causes, and facilitate effective resolution through cross-functional teams.
  • Collaborate with engineering, production, supply chain, and other departments to integrate quality considerations into all stages of product development and manufacturing.
  • Support the development and delivery of quality training programs for employees to enhance quality awareness and compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO 9001) and participate in internal and external quality audits.
  • Monitor supplier quality performance and work with procurement to ensure materials and components meet specified quality standards.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices to optimize quality and efficiency.
  • Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Your background

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related field) or a relevant technical discipline.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a Quality Assurance or Quality Control role, preferably within the power, energy, or heavy manufacturing industry.
  • Strong understanding and practical experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS), particularly ISO 9001.
  • Proven experience with quality tools and methodologies such as Root Cause Analysis, FMEA, 8D problem-solving, Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Lean Six Sigma principles.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and experience with quality management software is a plus.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
  • Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required
