Job Description

Daymark Health is a value-based oncology company redefining the cancer care experience for patients, providers, and health plans. Daymark’s comprehensive, personalized cancer care platform empowers patients with dedicated care navigation, symptom-focused support, behavioral health care, and social resources. Combined with evidence-based health interventions and a hybrid in-person + virtual care model, Daymark is improving the overall cancer experience for patients, providers, and health plans – and setting a new standard in cancer care.

Daymark’s groundbreaking approach is led by CEO Dr. Justin Bekelman, a pioneer in transforming cancer care, alongside some of the nation’s foremost leaders in oncology and value-based care. Daymark Health is backed by Maverick Ventures, Yosemite, Oncology Ventures, Healthier Capital, Blue Venture Fund, and Healthcare Foundry.

Be cautious of recruitment fraud, and always confirm that communications are coming from an official Daymark Health email.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Daymark is scaling its clinical operations across new markets, and with that growth comes a growing obligation to prove rigorously and continuously that the care we deliver is safe, consistent, and held to the standard our patients and health plan partners expect. We’re looking for a Quality and Safety Manager to own that work.

You’ll run the systems that keep Daymark’s clinical quality and safety program credible as it scales: maintaining day to day quality, as well as supporting audits, incident investigations, and root-cause analysis. You'll own the metrics and reporting that let our clinical and executive leadership see, in real time, how we’re performing against our own standards and against external requirements. You’ll work across an in-person and virtual care model, which means your protocols and controls need to hold up whether care is happening in a patient’s home, on a video visit, or with our provider partner groups.

You’ll partner closely with the VP of Clinical Operations and the VP of Oncology Nursing & Supportive Care to make sure quality and safety standards are built into how Daymark’s clinical teams work day to day, not layered on top after the fact. You’ll also be the point person when Daymark manages external audits or regulatory review, and the person our clinicians come to when something goes wrong and and they need a clear-eyed look at why.

This role is hybrid virtual reporting to the VP of Nursing and Supportive Care. This role will be expected to travel across markets to support adherence to quality standards.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

By the end of your first month, you will:

  • Review Daymark’s existing quality and safety protocols and documentation standards to understand where the program stands today.
  • Meet with clinical and operations leaders – including the VP of Clinical Operations and VP of Oncology Nursing & Supportive Care – to understand current pain points and near-term regulatory or health-plan obligations.
  • Map out the regulatory landscape relevant to Daymark’s markets and lines of business, and flagged any near-term compliance gaps or deadlines.
  • Enhance our process for logging and triaging incidents, near-misses, and quality concerns as they occur.

By the end of your first three months, you will:

  • Update Daymark’s quality and safety playbook.
  • Implement a quality and safety metrics report plan for clinical and executive leadership, covering audit results, open corrective actions, and trends across the care model.
  • Deliver training for clinical staff on updated safety protocols, incident reporting, and risk management expectations.
  • Monitor daily quality metrics across care teams, including AI implementation and quality.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

We believe you’ll thrive in this role if the following describes you:

  • Experience and qualifications. You have a bachelor’s degree in a related technical or clinical field, along with 3 to 5+ years of experience in quality assurance, compliance, or safety management, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or program-ownership capacity. Healthcare experience is required; cancer quality and safety experience preferred. Experience navigating audits from accrediting bodies is a plus.
  • Investigative rigor. You know how to run a root-cause analysis that actually gets to the root cause, not just the easiest explanation, and you can translate findings into corrective actions that stick.
  • Builder mindset. You’ve built a quality or safety program before, and you understand the difference between a policy that looks good in a manual and one that clinicians actually follow.
  • Comfort with change and ambiguity. Daymark is growing into new markets, which means your protocols will need to flex. You’re comfortable figuring out what needs to be operationalized and building a path forward without waiting for a fully settled playbook.
  • Strong relational skills. You can work effectively across a multidisciplinary team – clinicians, operations, and executive leadership – and you know how to deliver hard feedback about a safety gap without putting people on the defensive.
  • Organized and communicative. You are incredibly organized and sweat the details. You keep leadership and clinical teams in the loop on open issues, timelines, and action statuses.

Additional Information

The expected compensation for this role is $100,000 to $125,000 annually, depending on location & experience.

This role is fully remote but will require regular travel to our various markets. Preference for candidates based in the greater Boston or greater NYC area.
