Job Description

ESG has been involved in filling projects for over 20 years and from humble beginnings filling eroded farm paddocks and landscaping Golf Courses we are now involved in major backfilling projects for quarries, large-scale residential developments and major capping projects for redundant landfills.

Reporting to the Construction Manager, this role is responsible for maintaining our Chain of Responsibility (CoR) obligations, subcontractor documentation and site-level safety and environmental reporting.

Please be advised that this is a part-time opportunity from Tuesday through to Friday.

You will be tasked with:

  • Maintaining and auditing subcontractor compliance documentation (licences, insurances, inductions, equipment certifications).
  • Monitoring and supporting Chain of Responsibility (CoR) compliance across subcontracted operators and machines.
  • Conducting site safety and environmental inspections, as well as supporting incident investigations and reporting.
  • Reviewing and maintaining safe work method statements (SWMS), job safety analyses (JSAs), and environmental management plans.
  • Tracking and reporting on safety and compliance KPIs to management.
  • Supporting on-site teams to meet client contractual safety and environmental requirements.
  • Assisting with internal and external audits, and helping close out corrective actions.
  • Delivering or coordinating toolbox talks, inductions and compliance training.

You will need to have:

  • Experience in a QSE, HSE or compliance role, ideally in earthmoving, civil construction, transport or logistics.
  • Working knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislation.
  • An understanding of OHS legislation and environmental obligations relevant to construction or earthmoving.
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort managing documentation and audit trails.
  • The ability to travel between ESG sites within the north/west suburbs.
  • A valid driver's licence.
  • A valid Construction Induction Card (White Card).
  • The ability to manage subcontractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
  • The ability to work part-time from Tuesday to Friday, 7.00am to 4.00pm.
