The Opportunity

Abbott Rapid Diagnostics (formerly Alere) is part of Abbott’s Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry leading technologies. Our in-vitro Diagnostic Assay manufacturing site in Dundee has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Project Manager to join the Dundee Compliance department.

What You’ll Do

As the Quality Project Manager, you will:

  • Own the development and delivery of the site Project Management programme and PMO structure.
  • Manage high‑impact projects, including Design Control/Product Transfers, Facilities/IT, Product Improvements, CI, Compliance, and other business‑critical initiatives.
  • Partner with Business Leaders to support tactical and strategic priorities, aligned with Class A Business Excellence.
  • Promote effective cross‑functional teamwork and ensure projects are delivered to quality, compliance, cost, and timeline expectations.
  • Set clear expectations and foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor best‑practice methodologies and introduce modern project and resource management approaches.
  • Deliver accurate, timely reporting and communicate effectively with Senior Leadership, escalating risks or delays where needed.
  • Manage project‑related capital requests, costs, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Lead improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, communication, and operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies, quality standards, and site expectations.

Required Qualifications / Profile

  • Project Management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP).
  • Previous experience as a Project Manager.
  • Strong IT skills, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and project management tools (e.g., Smartsheet).
  • Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and time‑management.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Skilled in RCA tools (A3, DMAIC) and familiar with Process Validation.
  • Experience using EDMS and document control processes.
  • Understanding of ERP cost drivers and how to influence them.
  • Knowledge of CAPA and Change Control, with ability to manage records in relevant systems.
  • Experience in a regulated industry (preferred).
  • Six Sigma Yellow Belt (minimum).
