The Quality Operations Compliance Coordinator is responsible for critical support to the Quality Department in various capacities, including oversight of the environmental monitoring, Hygiene, GMP, and proficiency testing programs. This position will lead and participate in internal audits to ensure compliance and identify continuous improvement opportunities. The Quality Operations Compliance Coordinator will work closely with Nampa’s Operations team to help ensure clear understanding and focus on hygiene/GMP and QC check requirements. This position helps develop operators and closely partners with the leaders of the Operations team and operators to tactically assure that hygiene/GMP and QC check compliance is met daily.

Job Responsibilities & Tasks:

  • Focus on good housekeeping practices, hygiene, sanitation, work area clutter
  • Work closely with Sanitation Department
  • Identifying areas that require cleaning and organization
  • Support the Continuous Improvement dept with the 5S program
  • Performs, monitors, and tracks hygienic/GMP monitoring programs:
    • Environmental swabbing for pathogens, yeast, and mold
    • Water sampling
    • In-house Microbiological testing
    • SAS testing of ambient air
    • Sampling of compressed air and nitrogen
    • Operator hand swabs
  • Lead Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) Audits to ensure compliance and identify continuous improvement opportunities
  • Deliver training to production employees regarding hygiene/GMPs and QC checks
    • Support and train on why this is critical in a FOOD manufacturing factory
  • Validates that Quality related procedures are adhered to, through internal auditing, proficiency testing, and new operator training validations
  • All other duties as assigned

Position Requirements:

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, or a related field is strongly preferred. Experience may be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Six Sigma Green Belt certification is strongly preferred

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years of quality assurance experience in a food/beverage/pharma manufacturing environment is required
  • GMP and Hygiene certification
  • Completion or ability to successfully complete Internal Audit training
  • Previous experience working in quality assurance is strongly preferred
  • 6Sigma Green belt certified or the ability to be certified within the first year

SKILLS

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to conduct audits
  • Must have a passion for being on the plant floor and interacting with employees at all levels
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, training, and coaching skills
  • Must be able to challenge the status quo in a professional manner
  • Must have strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to communicate proficiently in English verbally and in writing (including email)
  • Intermediate computer skills (Microsoft Office)

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Must be able to work 8-12 hours per day and be on their feet for extended periods of time
  • Be able to work all shifts (primarily day shift)
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
