Job Description

Starting at $20.44/hr (up to $23.92/hr)

PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Must be able to understand instructions in English whether they are written or verbal and follow said instructions.
  • Obtain samples of stain, primer, and enamel finishing materials for testing purposes
  • Check material viscosity and material temperatures and record data manually or in a computer
  • Perform stain pour down tests and review with Production leaders
  • Perform PAR tests on stain and enamel materials and review with Production leaders
  • Train and learn how to use a spectrophotometer and train others as needed
  • Visually inspect material pumps, return lines, gauges, and agitators to verify equipment performance
  • Perform safety, 6S, and process audits within the Finishing pump room and record data manually or in a computer
  • Assist with finishing material troubleshooting
  • Complete work with accuracy and efficiency
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures
  • Work in a safe manner and as part of a team    
  • Communicate verbally clearly and concisely
  • Good problem-solving skills and willingness to learn Continuous Improvement skills
  • Willingness to work overtime when required including weekends 
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, and stand on feet at least ten hours per day. 
  • It is an essential function of this position that you report to work on a regular basis.
  • Able to train on 1st shift until job duties are learned and effectively administered

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Knowledge and application of safe work practices.
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Ability to read a tape measure
  • Basic math & computer skills.
  • Possess basic Microsoft Office and computer capabilities including Excel, Word and LINCs.
  • Ability to read/write/communicate in English.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Self-starter who works effectively without close supervision.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged standing and repetitive motions, bending, stooping, pushing, and pulling
  • Hand dexterity and strength
  • Overtime is required, including weekends with little or no advance notice
  • May be required to work a flexible schedule
  • It is an essential function of this position to report to work on a regular basis
