At Rolls-Royce SMR, we're revolutionising clean energy through the deployment of Small Modular Reactors. As we continue our growth journey, we need you to lead and evolve our Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring it remains robust, compliant, scalable and user-focused.

This is a unique opportunity to influence how governance, quality, compliance and business processes support one of the UK's most exciting engineering programmes. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our management systems enable safe, efficient and effective business operations while supporting the delivery of a nationally significant programme.

The Opportunity

As our IMS Manager, you'll lead the development, deployment, maintenance and continual improvement of the Rolls-Royce SMR Integrated Management System. You'll act as the organisational focal point for the IMS, ensuring processes remain well-defined, integrated, compliant and aligned with business strategy, regulatory expectations and industry best practice.

Working within our Safety & Regulatory Affairs function, you'll provide leadership and governance oversight while coaching stakeholders across the organisation to embed excellence in quality management and continuous improvement. You'll also have the opportunity to deputise for the Head of Quality, supporting the management of quality and nuclear safety matters with organisational independence when required

What We Need You To Do

Lead IMS Strategy, Governance and Leadership

  • Define and deliver the strategic direction of the Integrated Management System.
  • Ensure alignment between the IMS, business objectives, regulatory requirements and industry standards.
  • Maintain and continuously improve IMS architecture, governance arrangements and system integrations.
  • Lead, develop and coach the IMS team, supporting capability growth and strong system stewardship.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders on governance, compliance and quality matters.

Drive Process Excellence and Change Management

  • Lead business process modelling and process mapping activities.
  • Manage IMS change control processes, ensuring robust governance, traceability and evaluation.
  • Ensure policies, procedures, manuals, templates and documentation remain current and controlled.
  • Support organisational growth by evolving processes and governance frameworks to meet changing business needs.

Enable Assurance and Regulatory Readiness

  • Support audits, reviews and management system assessments.
  • Drive corrective and preventative actions arising from assurance activities.
  • Support ISO certification activities and ongoing compliance programmes.
  • Ensure the IMS remains aligned with regulatory expectations and business requirements.

Build Strong Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with senior leaders, process owners, subject matter experts and business functions.
  • Deliver coaching, guidance and training on IMS requirements and governance.
  • Communicate system enhancements, changes and quality improvements effectively across the organisation.
  • Influence stakeholders to drive adoption and continuous improvement.

Champion Data and Continuous Improvement

  • Establish meaningful IMS performance measures and reporting.
  • Analyse trends and insights to strengthen compliance and performance.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance process maturity and user experience.
  • Promote the use of digital, automated and AI-enabled solutions to improve system effectiveness.

What We're Looking For

We're interested in hearing from people with strong experience in management systems, governance, quality, compliance or business process management within complex organisational environments.

You'll likely bring:

  • Degree qualification or equivalent professional experience.
  • Significant experience leading Integrated Management Systems, Quality Management Systems or equivalent governance frameworks.
  • Strong understanding of ISO standards and management system governance.
  • Experience operating within programme, project or business environments.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.
  • Proven leadership experience, including team development and coaching.
  • Experience delivering change, process improvement and organisational transformation.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capability with a focus on continuous improvement.

It Would Be Great If You Also Have

  • Experience within nuclear, aerospace or other highly regulated industries.
  • Experience leading large-scale IMS implementation or transformation programmes.
  • Knowledge of digital quality systems and process improvement methodologies.
  • Experience implementing change management frameworks or digital governance solutions.

What Success Looks Like

You'll help ensure:
