Quality Manager

Location / Work Mode: Onsite (Cleveland, OH area)

Compensation: Up to $90,000 Base Salary + Excellent Benefits (Affordable medical options, 100% paid after deductible, 6% 401(k) match)

The Opportunity & Impact

Step into a high-visibility, hands-on Quality Manager role with an established precision manufacturing leader supporting critical aerospace and high-precision component operations. As the quality lead, you will own shop-floor and system-level quality across the manufacturing lifecycle—from managing First Article Inspections (FAIs/FAIRs) and PPAPs to driving customer-facing communications and leading continuous improvement efforts. Key Responsibilities

• Drive end-to-end quality assurance: Oversee day-to-day shop floor operations, conduct routine line walks, and guarantee strict compliance with AS9100 and customer-specific requirements.
• Manage inspection and technical documentation: Perform, review, balloon (using DISCUS), and submit FAIs/FAIRs and PPAPs while maintaining complete data accuracy in Net-Inspect and E2 ERP.
• Lead root-cause analysis and nonconformance: Manage the Material Review Board (MRB) process, disposition nonconforming materials, and execute Corrective Action Requests (CARs) using 5-Why and Fishbone methodologies.
• Oversee supplier quality performance: Review purchase orders, manage the Approved Supplier List (ASL), verify supplier certifications, and manage outside processor quality standards.
• Serve as the primary customer interface: Manage technical communications regarding quality concerns, rework coordination, and DSQR generation, while leading onsite customer visits and audits.
• Maintain Quality Management System (QMS): Track monthly KPIs, coordinate calibration schedules, maintain employee training matrices, and conduct regular internal QMS audits.
• Optimize shop-floor tools and processes: Update part routings, inspection documentation, and E2 inventory records to prevent recurring scrap, split jobs, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

• 2+ years of Quality Management experience: Proven track record leading quality operations in a precision manufacturing environment (Aerospace, Automotive, Medical, or General Job Shop).
• Hands-on inspection expertise: Strong proficiency with First Article (FAI) and in-process inspection techniques, drawing review, and blueprint reading.
• Quality System knowledge: In-depth understanding of AS9100, ISO 9001, or equivalent quality management system standards and internal auditing procedures.
• Root-Cause Analysis proficiency: Demonstrated skill in resolving quality issues using formal methods such as 5 Why, Fishbone diagrams, and Corrective Action Requests (CARs).
• Industry Software proficiency: Hands-on experience using industry software tools including Net-Inspect, DISCUS (drawing ballooning), and ERP platforms (E2 or similar).
• Strong Customer and Supplier Management: Exceptional communication skills for managing customer quality requirements, supplier certs, and MRB dispositions.
• CMM Capability (Preferred): Ability or experience in programming and operating CMM inspection equipment is highly desirable.
• Practical Expertise: Degree not required; practical expertise in precision metals or plastics manufacturing is prioritized.
