We are seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead our quality function and Quality Management System (QMS) at our Portersville manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for driving product and process quality, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, leading audits, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.
The Quality Manager is responsible for leading all aspects of plant quality performance and overseeing the site's Quality Management System (QMS). This position partners closely with operations, engineering, customers, and corporate quality teams to ensure products and manufacturing processes consistently meet customer expectations and business requirements.
The successful candidate will be a hands-on leader who thrives in a manufacturing environment, possesses strong problem-solving skills, and is passionate about driving sustainable quality improvements.
Key Responsibilities
Quality Leadership & Continuous Improvement
- Lead the site's quality strategy and overall quality performance.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing defects, waste, and the cost of poor quality.
- Develop and monitor quality metrics and KPIs to support operational and business objectives.
- Champion a proactive, process-focused quality culture across the facility.
- Lead cross-functional problem-solving and improvement efforts.
Quality Management System (QMS)
- Own and maintain the site's Quality Management System, ensuring ongoing effectiveness and compliance.
- Develop, maintain, and improve quality procedures, documentation, records, and training programs.
- Ensure compliance with customer requirements, company standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Lead internal audits and coordinate customer, corporate, certification, and regulatory audits.
- Manage corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes and ensure effective resolution of nonconformances.
- Drive continuous improvement of quality systems and compliance programs.
Customer Quality
- Serve as the primary quality contact for customer audits, assessments, reviews, and escalations.
- Lead customer complaint investigations and implement effective corrective actions.
- Coordinate customer inspections, testing activities, and quality-related initiatives.
- Ensure timely root cause analysis, corrective action implementation, and issue closure.
- Build strong customer relationships through responsiveness, transparency, and measurable quality improvements.
Process Quality
- Establish and improve manufacturing quality controls, inspection methods, and testing strategies.
- Lead Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) activities for new and existing products.
- Analyze quality data and trends to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Collaborate with Engineering and Operations to improve process capability and reduce variation.
Team Leadership
- Lead and develop the Quality team, including quality assurance, quality control, inspection, testing, and continuous improvement resources.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance management to quality team members.
- Foster collaboration across departments to achieve quality and operational goals.

Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- 5+ years of quality leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing Quality Management Systems and quality compliance programs.
- Strong knowledge of Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and FMEA methodologies.
- Experience leading customer, internal, and external audits.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred
- 5-10 years of manufacturing quality experience.
- ISO 9001 experience; Certified Auditor designation preferred.
- Lean Six Sigma certification (Black Belt preferred).
- Experience supporting plastic injection molding manufacturing operations.
- Experience working directly with customers on quality reviews and issue resolution.
