The Role

As Quality Manager, you will lead the deployment of the Quality strategy across your aligned area, ensuring governance, capability and systems are effective in delivering business, regulatory and customer requirements. You will play a key role in driving a proactive quality culture, improving performance and enabling right-first-time delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deploy the Quality strategy to drive performance, customer satisfaction and continuous improvement
  • Govern Quality performance through KPIs, ensuring effective monitoring, reporting and targeted improvement actions
  • Develop and embed a strong Quality culture, enhancing capability, knowledge and compliance across the business
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory, customer and internal requirements, acting as a key interface with regulatory bodies and customers where required
  • Define and deliver a risk-based assurance strategy, including audit planning and execution to validate controls and drive improvements
  • Drive improvements to the Operating System and Quality Management System (e.g. SABRe/GS3001), reducing risk, waste and cost
  • Lead robust problem resolution and containment activities, ensuring timely and effective corrective and preventative actions
  • Champion defect prevention and right-first-time principles, addressing technical, human and organisational factors
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across operations, engineering and supply chain to embed quality at source
  • Provide leadership and coaching to teams, driving accountability, engagement and high performance

A proactive and strategic Quality leader who can balance governance with continuous improvement, influence across complex stakeholder groups, and drive a culture of excellence in a high-performance engineering environment.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a Quality Management role within engineering or manufacturing environments
  • Experience within aerospace, defence or other highly regulated industries
  • Strong background working within operations, engineering or supply chain environments
  • In-depth knowledge of Quality Management Systems and regulatory standards (e.g. AS9100, ISO9001)
  • Demonstrated experience leading quality improvement initiatives and delivering measurable performance improvements
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels internally and externally
  • Experience managing audits, compliance and regulatory interfaces

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Knowledge and application of structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g. 8D, Root Cause Analysis)
  • Experience with continuous improvement frameworks such as Six Sigma or Lean
  • Understanding of Human Factors and their impact on quality and operational performance
  • Experience working with supplier quality and external supply chains
  • Ability to analyse data and trends to drive insight-led decision making
  • Leadership experience with a track record of developing high-performing teams
