Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Quality Manager role in Clackamas, OR. The Quality Manager will be responsible for overseeing quality systems, supplier quality, compliance, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives while supporting aerospace welding and manufacturing operations. This position plays a critical role in ensuring product quality, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
· Develop, implement, and maintain quality management systems in compliance with ISO 9000 standards and customer requirements.
· Conduct supplier audits and manage supplier quality performance to ensure adherence to quality requirements and specifications.
· Utilize statistical process control (SPC) methods to monitor manufacturing processes, identify trends, and drive continuous improvement efforts.
· Create, maintain, and improve control plans, inspection procedures, and quality documentation to support manufacturing operations and regulatory compliance.
· Collaborate with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues and implement corrective and preventive actions.
· Analyze quality data and generate reports to communicate performance trends, risks, and improvement opportunities to leadership.
· Ensure compliance with AWS D17.1, ASME, aerospace specifications, and customer quality requirements.
· Oversee calibration systems, inspection records, and quality documentation.
· Review and manage weld procedures, procedure qualifications, and welder certifications.
· Supervise quality inspectors, welding inspectors, and document control personnel.
· Lead internal and external audits and support customer and regulatory inspections.
· Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement throughout the organization.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Proven experience in quality management within a manufacturing environment.
· Strong knowledge of ISO 9000 and NADCAP standards and quality systems implementation.
· Experience with supplier quality management and conducting supplier audits.
· Proficiency in statistical process control (SPC) and quality data analysis.
· Ability to interpret aerospace specifications, engineering drawings, and welding inspection requirements.
· Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and quality management software.
Preferred Qualifications:
· ASQ Certified Quality Manager, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
· Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Management, Manufacturing, or a related field.
· Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) certification.
· Familiarity with AWS D17.1 and aerospace welding processes including TIG welding, orbital welding, and brazing.
· Advanced experience with quality management software and data visualization tools.
· Previous leadership experience managing quality teams, projects, or continuous improvement initiatives.
