Job Description

Reports to: VP of Quality

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and direct the work of the QA Project Engineers, QA Supervisors, and Quality Auditor staff
  • Develop and implement a quality program which insures conformity of purchased material and final product
  • s to strict quality standards, while maintaining business volumes to the customer
  • Meet with quality representatives to discuss and resolve quality problems as required
  • Oversee the containment process of suspect product and manage the sorting operations
  • Manage the feedback for suspect product and any monetary claims associated with these issues
  • Coordinate with Product Engineering department in support of current and new product launch
  • Work closely with Manufacturing Department personnel in support of production operations
  • Follow-up on customer complaints and warranty claims
  • Review and ensure that all testing requirements have been met
  • Manage and Maintain Production and Customer Volume Requirements
  • Provide data metrics to company QA and plant management regarding rejection, Parts Per Millions (PPMs) 5Ps, and improvement plans
  • Manage and maintain production and customer volume requirements
  • Participate in ongoing performance management including but not limited to evaluations, recommendations of wage increases and necessary corrective action
  • Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety standards, 5S practices, regulatory and/or customer requirements
  • Authorities for an employee are granted by means of work instructions, policies and procedures and/or direction provided by management to meet the requirements of the customer

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or Technical Field, or equivalent

Experience:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in the Quality Field
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a leadership or supervisory role.

Skills:

  • Must have strong interpersonal and customer-service skills
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers
  • Ability to interpret blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc...
  • Capable of using basic measurement devices such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, etc...
  • Experience working with Windows operating system as well as Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Other:

  • Ability to travel for extended periods of time with limited prior notice
  • Must be able to work any assigned shift or overtime, as necessary

Work Environment

This job operates primarily in an office environment, and routinely uses standard office equipment. Some of the work will be performed in a plant environment where it may be loud

Physical Demands

The employee frequently is required to sit, and occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. The employee may also be required to work in hot temperatures.
