The Opportunity
Responsible for the integration, standardization and implementation of the Quality Program for Tundra. Creates and fosters a culture of continuous improvement in productivity, effectiveness, quality, safety and waste reduction.
The Role
Provides leadership and is accountable for the integrity of the Tundra Quality Program
Integrate and further develop existing programs, supporting tools/resources and training into one company-wide Quality Management System.
Leverage the use of technology, analysis of testing and inspection procedures in all aspects of the role
Implement Six Sigma philosophies and principles, including supporting systems and tools.
Develops and implements sustainable 5S programs nationally
Perform virtual internal audits of quality systems for conformance to relevant Standards (e.g. ISO 9001, CSA N299.3, AAR M-1003), deficiency identification and correction.
Maintain all external regulatory certifications – i.e. ABSA, National Board, ASME – for all provinces. Manage the external auditing program and support Operations during external audits.
Assist the business in responding to customer complaints / CARs as required.
Use statistical methods to diagnose and correct improper quality control practices
Implement quality cost concepts and techniques
Perform supplier audits.
The Candidate
Education: Relevant university degree (e.g. Engineering) and quality certification is considered an asset.
Work Experience: 5 -10 years
Knowledge: Previous Quality Management experience leading organizational change and continuous improvement, preferable in an industrial and/or service environment. Knowledge and ability to develop and administer quality management information systems. Previous experience managing lean Six Sigma and other continuous improvement initiatives. Knowledge of CSA N299 and AAR requirements are an asset. Must have knowledge of ABSA, National Board, ASME as they relate to Pressure Safety Valves, Boilers, and ANSI Valves.
