Job Description

Downer is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Management Representative to join our Asphalt & Products team in Brendale, QLD. This is an exciting opportunity for a quality-focused engineering professional to play a critical role in delivering high-quality road construction and maintenance projects across the region.

This role will provide quality, engineering and contractual support across a range of asphalt projects, ensuring compliance with specifications, quality standards and contractual requirements while maintaining our commitment to Zero Harm.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Managing and coordinating project quality assurance activities on a daily basis.
  • Ensuring compliance with project Quality Plans, Main Roads specifications, NATA requirements and internal quality systems.
  • Reviewing test results and providing technical feedback to Project Engineers and operational teams.
  • Managing Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), including investigation, reporting and closure.
  • Conducting and coordinating project audits with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintaining project quality documentation and uploading records to required databases.
  • Preparing and issuing Quality and Safety Plans for projects as required.
  • Providing contract administration support, including progress claims.
  • Supporting asphalt laboratory activities and quality testing processes.
  • Liaising with project teams, managers and clients regarding specifications, quality outcomes and project requirements.
  • Promoting a strong safety culture and ensuring compliance with WHS, environmental and quality obligations.

ABOUT YOU

  • Experience in quality assurance within road construction, civil infrastructure, asphalt, spray sealing or pavement projects.
  • Strong knowledge of asphalt, spray seal and stabilisation mix designs, pavement construction methodologies and road technologies.
  • Understanding of construction materials testing, interpretation of test results and providing of technical advice.
  • Experience managing project quality documentation and stakeholder requirements.
  • Familiarity with NATA-certified laboratory requirements and field testing services.
  • Demonstrated commitment to creating and maintaining a safety-first culture.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to build effective stakeholder relationships.
  • High levels of organisation, attention to detail and problem-solving capability.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement and professional excellence.
