ATI is currently looking for Quality Leader to join our facility located in Cudahy, WI. This position is responsible for organizing, planning, and supervising dimensional and visual inspection of forgings produced by Ladish Forging. Responsible for implementation of inspection functions which ensure product conformance to Ladish Forging and customer requirements.

  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment through continuous improvement, employee involvement, procedure development and problem resolution. Manage daily, weekly, monthly safety audit, crane inspections, and mobile equipment inspections.
  • Plan, organize, and direct daily activities of inspection personnel assigned to satisfy in-process and final dimensional requirements to ensure conformance to customer requirements.
  • Assist in the management of gage R&R activities with measuring equipment and activities supporting reduced inspection processes.
  • Lead the OPCERT reduced inspection program including providing training to the machining department and auditing them.
  • Support the machining department through First Piece inspection verification and external machine houses with First Piece machining over inspection (as required).
  • Provide necessary support to insure continuous compliance to ISO 9002/AS9100A and any other customer specific inspection processes.
  • Review of internal and external customer drawings to determine best most cost effective inspection techniques required to insure all specified dimensional characteristics are verified with methods and tools that provide adequate confidence levels.
  • Compile data on problem jobs, and provide suitable communication to support corrective action.
  • Provide instruction and training to hourly personnel to insure an effective and efficient work force.
  • Insure employee conformance to Company work rules, promote quality and safety programs. Execute the requirements of union contracts and participate in grievance meetings.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements

  • High school diploma required.
  • 4–5 years of experience in dimensional inspection, quality control, manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent technical training.
  • Working knowledge of forging, machining, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience supervising employees and leading daily operations.
  • Understanding of workplace safety practices and accident prevention principles.
  • Knowledge of labor agreements and experience working in a unionized environment preferred.
  • Ability to comply with ISO, AS9100, and customer-specific quality requirements.

Essential Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Proficiency in dimensional inspection methods, techniques, and measuring equipment.
  • Experience with Coordinate Measuring Machines (CMMs), measuring arms, laser scanning technology, and CAD systems preferred.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and customer requirements.
  • Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
  • Ability to analyze quality data and support corrective action initiatives.
  • Effective communication and employee training skills.
  • Strong organizational and planning abilities to coordinate inspection activities and priorities.
  • Ability to conduct audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality-related software applications.
