Quality LeadBird is seeking an experienced Quality Lead to support quality assurance and quality control activities across industrial, infrastructure, institutional, power generation, and nuclear construction projects in Ontario. Reporting functionally to the Quality Manager – Construction Projects and operationally to project leadership, you will work closely with project teams, clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure work is completed in accordance with project requirements, applicable codes and standards, and Bird's Quality Management System.
This position is based at the Tiverton, Ontario project site and requires successful completion of required security screening and site access requirements.
Implement project quality plans, inspection requirements, and quality processes.
Conduct inspections, audits, walkdowns, and surveillance activities.
Develop and manage Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), quality records, and turnover documentation.
Manage deficiencies, NCRs, corrective actions, and closeout activities.
Verify compliance with drawings, specifications, standards, and client requirements.
Support commissioning, system turnover, and project completion activities.
Providequality guidance and support to project teams and subcontractors.
Promote a proactive culture of quality, compliance, and continuous improvement.
Post-secondary education in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Quality Management, or related fields.
5+ years of QA/QC experience in industrial, infrastructure, power generation, nuclear, institutional, or heavy construction environments.
Experience with inspections, testing, quality documentation, NCR management, and turnover packages.
Familiarity with ITP development and implementation.
Experience supporting HVAC, mechanical piping, electrical, and concrete construction activities
Knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and quality management principles.
Strong communication, organizational, and stakeholder management skills.
Proficiencywith Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Procore, or similar construction management systems.
Experience in nuclear or other highly regulated environments is considered an asset.
Security Requirements :
Must be eligible to obtain andmaintainrequired security clearance and site access for a nuclear facility.
Successful completion of background screening and client-specific clearance requirements isrequired
