Responsible for the inspection and testing of incoming materials, performs compound quality control testing, provide support to Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing leading to the prevention and early detection of defects and nonconformities in material used in the manufacturing process.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Always complies with company safety rules during working hours and ensures the safety of himself/herself and others at his/her operating station.
• Responsible for keeping equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
• Works in a professional manner, punctual and highly dependable.
• Performs required inspection/testing with company approved measuring devices to ensure final process meets the required specifications.
• Verifies the measuring devices being used are calibrated.
• Perform internal and external cable failure analysis to aid in determining root cause.
• Responsible for performing required tests, data entry and filing finished work sheets.
• Responsible for the verification of the conformity of customer samples, the preparation of these samples for shipment and other customer sample related tasks.
• Support line operators with immediate feedback on quality related issues.
• Participates in maintaining ISO certification.
• Adheres to applicable System Level Procedures (SLPs).
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge
• Test equipment required performing specific quality tests.
• Instrumentation associated with test equipment.
• Recognition of product quality.
• Tools and measuring devices applicable to the industry.
• ISO requirements pertaining to Quality Control.
Skills
Position requires individuals with proven mechanical aptitude. Must have the ability to:
• Excellent mechanical aptitude.
• Read micrometers and other related precision tools.
• Operate various pieces of testing equipment.
• Prepare required samples for various physical/chemical tests.
• Use handheld tools and measuring devices.
• Read and understand industry and customer specifications.
• Perform shop arithmetic.
• Read and follow written instructions.
• Communicate effectively to receive and pass on information and instructions.
• Ability to perform multiple tasks concurrently.
• Continuously pay attention to detail.
• Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) required.
• Maintain legible and properly formatted quality records.
• Interpret test results.
• Work within a Team structure.
• Knowledge of Lean.
Prerequisites
Position required individuals to have the ability to:
• Minimum of a High School Diploma with some quality testing experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred but not required.
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
• Lift up to fifty (30) pounds from floor to chest.
