Job Description

As a Quality Inspector, you will play a key role in ensuring the quality and integrity of materials, components and race car parts entering and moving through our manufacturing processes.

Working within our Quality team, you will inspect and verify components against engineering drawings, specifications and purchasing requirements, helping to ensure only fully compliant parts are released for build and production activities across the team.

What You'll Do

  • Inspect and measure race car components, sub-components and tooling parts using a range of inspection methods and technologies.
  • Verify incoming materials and components from suppliers to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications and purchase order requirements.
  • Conduct detailed quality checks prior to components being released to build or the next stage of production.
  • Accurately record and transact inspection activities within company systems and quality processes.
  • Support the delivery of the highest quality standards required in a high-performance racing environment.

Qualifications

What You'll Bring

  • A strong engineering background within precision engineering, manufacturing or a similar technical environment.
  • Experience working within a quality inspection function measuring precision-engineered components.
  • Knowledge of GD&T and the ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience using modern inspection equipment and software, with exposure to systems such as PC-DMIS, PolyWorks, GOM Inspect, Faro/Power Inspect or similar being advantageous.
  • Strong IT skills and confidence using computer-based systems, including MRP or equivalent manufacturing software.

McLaren Racing was founded by racing driver Bruce McLaren in 1963. The team entered its first Formula 1 race in 1966. McLaren has since won 21 Formula 1 world championships, 189 Formula 1 Grands Prix, the Indianapolis 500 three times, and the Le Mans 24 Hours at its first attempt.
