Who We Are Looking For

  • Aery Aviation, LLC currently has an immediate opening for Quality Inspector in our Newport New, VA location. The Quality Inspector is responsible for assisting the QA department in assuring that all aircraft inspections and maintenance are completed and documented in accordance with our Repair Station Manual, customer’s requirements, company procedures, and regulatory requirements, prior to releasing the product to return to service. The Quality Inspector advances the quality goals of the company within the Aery Quality Management System (AQMS).

What You Will Be Doing

  • Read drawings and work instructions to comprehend the quality expectations for company products and services.
  • Perform receiving inspections for materials and parts provided by vendors. Ensure that the inspections are properly carried out and that appropriate paperwork is properly executed.
  • Perform final inspections for materials, parts, products and services produced by the company.
  • Perform periodic internal and external quality audits as assigned and scheduled by the quality manager.
  • Monitor the use of equipment and tooling to assure that equipment and tooling are being always utilized safely. Check that tooling has current calibration (as required).
  • Interface with program stakeholders to ensure that customer requirements and specifications are protected from start through delivery of company products and services.
  • Provide Certificates of Conformity, Return to Service and other approvals as required by agreement and regulatory agencies.
  • Establish Discrepant Material Reports (DMR) for materials that have damage, missing parts, missing paperwork or other issues discovered during the receiving inspection.
  • Build upon and maintain approved vendor data.
  • Assist the quality manager in collecting data to produce quality metrics, trends and activities related to improving cost, quality and schedule performance.
  • Process Product Nonconformity Reports (PNR) as assigned by the quality manager
  • Provide input to quality processes and procedures with an active commitment to quality department improvement

You Must Have

  • Minimum of five (5) years of practical aviation experience in an aviation maintenance or repair organization, with three (3) years of inspection experience
  • Relevant military experience will be considered
  • Airframe & Powerplant certificate required
  • Proven experience as a quality inspector or relevant aviation technical experience
  • Ability to travel (20% travel possible)
  • A keen eye for detail and a results-driven approach to problem solving
  • Must be responsible and trustworthy
  • Thorough knowledge of quality control standards and testing methodology
  • High School Diploma
  • A&P License
  • Working knowledge and experience working with MS Office tools
  • Ability to set priorities and demonstrate follow-through with stakeholders
  • Good communicator who can articulate verbally and in written correspondence effectively to stakeholders
  • The ability to travel domestic and internationally - estimated to be as high as 10% of the time.
  • The willingness and ability to participate in a Drug Free Workplace Drug Testing Program.
  • Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 suite.
  • Must be proficient in spoken and written English language communication and comprehension
  • This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Security Clearance. U.S. Citizenship status is required as this position needs an active U.S. Security Clearance for employment. Non-US citizens may not be eligible to obtain a security clearance. The Defense Industrial Security Clearance Office (DISCO), an agency of the Department of Defense, handles and adjudicates the security clearance process. Security clearance factors include, but are not limited to, allegiance to the US, foreign influence, foreign preference, criminal conduct, security violations and drug involvement.

Salary Range: $75,000-$90,000
