Job Shift: AnyThe Quality Inspector is responsible for inspecting raw materials, in-process components, and finished products to ensure compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, and internal quality standards. This role requires strong blueprint reading ability, precision measurement skills, and confident decision-making regarding product acceptance or rejection.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret customer blueprints and engineering drawings
- Measure product using tape measures, calipers, micrometers, height gauges, thread gauges, and other precision tools
- Perform inspections on incoming, in-process, and finished materials
- Make sound decisions regarding product acceptance and rejection
- Complete quality documentation and inspection reports accurately
- Ensure proper segregation of non-conforming material
- Work independently with minimal supervision
- Collaborate effectively with production, engineering, and leadership teams
- Assist with first-article and first-off inspections
- Support continuous improvement and corrective action initiatives
- Promote quality awareness on the shop floor

Qualifications
- Manufacturing or steel fabrication experience required
- Prior Quality Inspection or Quality Assurance experience preferred
- Strong blueprint reading skills
- Proficiency with precision measurement tools
- Ability to make confident inspection decisions
- Competent in completing quality documentation
- Strong communication skills across all levels
- Positive, solution-oriented “can-do” attitude
- Lean manufacturing knowledge a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical degree preferred but not required
