WORK LOCATION:Ann Arbor, MI

FLSA STATUS:Exempt

SALARY RANGE:The anticipated salary range for this role is $85,000 to $115,000 annually This range reflects a good faith estimate based on the targeted level for the role and typical compensation benchmarks across U.S. locations. Actual compensation may vary depending on the selected candidate’s qualifications, experience, geographical location, and internal alignment.

TheProduction Quality Inspection Supervisor willbe responsible foroverseeing thequality inspection processes and ensuring compliance with quality standards and specifications for UAS/UAV production. Your strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and knowledge of quality inspection techniques will be instrumental inmaintainingthe highest level of product quality and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The following job functions are a basic requirement but are not limited to and may beassignedother duties.

  • Supervise and lead a team of quality inspectors in performing inspections and tests on Fuel Cell Systems components, subassemblies, and finished products.
  • Ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications throughout the production process, including incoming materials, in-process inspections, and final product inspections.
  • Develop and implement inspection plans, procedures, and work instructions to guide thequalityinspection activities.
  • Train and mentor quality inspectors on inspection techniques, quality standards, and the proper use of inspection tools and equipment.
  • Conduct periodic audits of inspection records, reports, and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, engineering, and quality assurance, to address quality-related issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Investigate and resolve non-conformance instances and implement preventive actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to quality inspection activities, such as inspection yield, defect rates, and inspection cycle time, and implement improvement initiatives tooptimizeefficiency and effectiveness.
  • Utilize statistical analysis tools to analyzeinspection dataandidentifytrends, patterns, and areas for process improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Engineering team to develop and implement quality control plans and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulations, and customer requirements throughout the quality inspection process.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in quality inspection techniques, and regulatory changes related to Fuel Cell Systems
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects, lean manufacturing initiatives, and process optimization efforts to enhance quality and productivity.
  • Foster a culture of quality excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement within the production quality inspection team
  • Provide regular reports to management on quality inspection performance, trends, and improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies is a plus.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Certified Quality Inspector (CQI), are desirable.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

The following are a non-exhaustive list of qualifications for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Quality Management, ora relatedfield. Relevant work experience in quality inspection may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven experience as a Quality Inspection Supervisor or similar role in the aerospace manufacturing industry, preferably with exposure to UAS/UAV products.
  • Strong knowledge of quality inspection techniques, methodologies, and tools, including the use of precision measuring instruments and gauges.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to aerospace manufacturing, such as AS9100 or ISO 9001.
  • Experience in supervising and leading a team of quality inspectors or technicians.
  • Strong understanding of production processes and quality control principles.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in performing inspections and reviewing inspection reports.
  • Proficiency in using inspection tools and equipment, such as calipers, micrometers, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability toidentifyand resolve quality-related issues effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross- functionalteams.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to communicate company messages and feedback to broad array of diverse staff.

This position may require access to information that is subject to compliance with the International Traffic Arms Regulations (“ITAR”) and/or the Export Administration Regulations (“EAR”). WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The work environment may involve a standard office setting while also incorporating elements of a production area. Employees will use standard office equipment, including computers, and must demonstrate stamina to sit or stand while maintaining attention to detail despite potential interruptions. The role may require occasional activities such as walking, climbing, stooping, crouching, and bending. Vision is necessary for reading printed materials and a computer screen, while hearing and speech are essential for effective communication both in person and over the telephone. Additionally, the position may necessitate travel by air or automobile. Employees may be required to use personal protective equipment, including safety glasses, safety shoes, and shop coats, to ensure safety in the production environment. Employees may be able to lift up to 30 pounds as needed.
