Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to manage the execution of supplier assessments and execution of projects and implement both corrective and preventive actions based on supplier maturity and performance levels. Each day, you will manage operational supplier quality, both on-site and off-site, ensuring the thorough execution of supplier qualification, development processes and implementation of ABB guidelines. You will also showcase your skills by managing the supplier’s Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

The role will support for the ABB India Ltd for Electrification Smart Power for Power Enclosures Business to be based at BANGALORE, India.

You will be mainly accountable for:

  • Manage supplier approval and qualification processes for parts, materials, and subcontractor services, including PPAP and supplier manufacturing site surveillance.
  • Manage supplier issue resolution related to quality, delivery, non-conforming products, and project services, ensuring timely corrective and preventive actions.
  • Collaborate with Procurement and internal stakeholders to engage suppliers, manage claims, complete inspection activities, and resolve commercial or quality concerns.
  • Manage supplier development and performance improvement through regular evaluations, development initiatives, performance monitoring, and supplier reporting.
  • Support supplier onboarding and business growth by promoting effective communication across suppliers, businesses, and internal functions while implementing initiatives that improve profitability and operational performance.

Qualifications for the role

  • 8–12 years of relevant experience in supplier quality management within the Low Voltage (LV) Switchboard industry.
  • Extensive experience in supplier quality management, quality assurance, and supplier performance improvement.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing and delivering assigned supplier quality tasks and projects within defined timelines.
  • Solid understanding of LV Switchboard manufacturing processes, quality requirements, and supplier capabilities.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify quality issues, take corrective actions, and ensure compliance with required quality standards.
  • Degree in Engineering with a background in managing supplier quality and supplier development activities.
  • Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with proficiency in English and Hindi.
