We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Quality Engineer with strong project management experience to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in driving our company's commitment to quality excellence and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate will possess a blend of technical expertise, project management skills, and a passion for continuous improvement. They will be responsible for analyzing and improving manufacturing processes, ensuring product quality, and managing projects aimed at enhancing overall operational performance. Additionally, the Quality Engineer will oversee the work of a Quality Technician, providing guidance and support to ensure quality objectives are met.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Quality Assurance:
◦ Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to resolve quality issues.
◦ Monitor and analyze quality performance metrics to identify trends and areas for improvement.
◦ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance with quality standards and regulations.
◦ Control Plant specific documentation and specifications.
◦ Ensure adherence to ISO 9001 standards and prepare the plant for external Audit.
◦ Support new product development testing and definition of specifications that meet customer requirements.
• Continuous Improvement Initiatives:
◦ Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost reduction.
◦ Lead Lean Six Sigma projects to enhance quality and operational efficiency.
◦ Develop and implement standardized work processes and best practices.
• Data Analysis and Reporting:
◦ Collect and analyze data to identify key performance indicators and trends.
◦ Prepare and present detailed reports on quality and improvement initiatives.
◦ Use statistical methods to solve complex manufacturing and quality issues.
• Project Management:
◦ Manage multiple projects concurrently, ensuring timely and successful completion.
◦ Develop project plans, timelines, and budgets, track progress and report on project status.
◦ Coordinate with stakeholders to define project scope, goals, and deliverables.
• Training and Development:
◦ Conduct training sessions on quality standards, continuous improvement methodologies, and best practices.
◦ Mentor and coach team members on Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques.
• Stakeholder Collaboration:
◦ Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to drive quality improvements.
◦ Engage with suppliers and customers to resolve quality-related concerns and foster strong relationships.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
• BS degree in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent years of experience.
• 5+ years of experience in a quality capacity is preferred.
• 3+ years of proven ability to lead teams preferred.
• Knowledge and/or training in core quality tools (i.e., PPAP, FMEA, APQP, etc.).
• Knowledge of ISO 9001.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, Value Stream Mapping preferred.
• Analytical, technical, and mathematical skills, capable of evaluating and solving various complex problems.
• Proven ability to effectively use MS Office with advanced knowledge in Excel; experience using Office 365 is preferred.
• Demonstrated change management skills and ability to be a change agent.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills (written and oral) to deal with a wide range of internal and external customers.
• Ability to develop Executive-level presentations.
• Ability to work individually or as part of a team.
• Self-motivated attitude with the ability to multitask and thrive in a timeline-driven environment.
• Travel as required.
Work Environment:

• Office Environment: This position may operate in an office environment and is not expected to adverse environmental conditions.
• Manufacturing Environment: This position may operate in a manufacturing setting with conditions of high-pressure air/steam/gas, hazardous gas/chemical fumes, extreme heat and temperature variations, loud noise, exposure to dangerous machinery, dirty work environment and/or exposure to dust (pigment). The position is required to wear PPE including, but not limited to safety glasses, steel toe/composite boots and earplugs.
