THE OPPORTUNITY

Silvus is seeking a Quality Engineering Technician who will report to the Q uality Engineer Supervisor on the Operations - Quality Control team. The successful individual in this role will be responsible for inspecting and maintaining proper documentation and reporting of incoming electronic and mechanical parts. This role collaborates closely with our Engineers and Suppliers to suggest changes, improvements, and communicate customer requirements.

This position is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday, at Silvus Technologies’ headquarters in the heart of vibrant West Los Angeles, CA

The following is a list of at least some of the current essential job functions of the position. Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities at any time at its discretion.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform acceptance testing on first article PCBs, assemblies, and components in a Linux-based environment.

  • Prepare assemblies according to established acceptance testing procedures.

  • Support maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and upgrading of test stations.

  • Perform rigorous stress testing on fully built assemblies to validate components.

  • Identify the serviceability of parts and components and appropriate tooling.

  • Inspect First Article components and subassemblies.

  • Read and interpret part documentation including blueprints, drawings, schematics, etc.

  • Prepare in-process inspection report ensuring completeness and accuracy.

  • Work closely with engineering and operations leadership to develop and maintain Quality Assurance and Quality Control documentation.

  • Collaborate with the engineering and quality teams to identify, investigate, and document any inconsistent or abnormal test results.

  • Perform other related duties of which the above are representative.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED, with a minimum of 3-4 years of experience in electronics assembly, inspection, or repair; OR an Associate’s degree in Electronics, with 1-2 years of relevant experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree in Electronics or a related field.

  • Experience with utilizing inspection tools (i.e., multi-meters, calipers, micrometers, microscopes).

  • Ability to read basic schematics, specifically those related to PCBs and PWAs.

  • Proficient with PC and familiar with MS Office.

  • Must have excellent organizational skills, be highly attentive to details, and have the capacity to handle numerous tasks simultaneously.

  • Excellent and effective oral and written communication.

  • Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. Citizen, or U.S. Permanent Resident) due to clients under U.S. federal contracts

  • All employment is contingent upon the successful clearance of a background check and drug test.

PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Prior experience in a fast-paced production/manufacturing environment. Soldering experience.

  • IPC Certification.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Indoor air-conditioned facility.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do the following:

    • Perform bending and reaching movements to place items on lower and higher shelves.

    • Kneeling or squatting to access lower shelves.

    • Lift up to 50 lbs.

    • Walking/Moving in the labs.

COMPENSATION: $34.50 - $40.25 / hourly
