The Quality Engineer will ensure compliance with ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management System requirements and flow down program and customer specifications while conducting physical configuration audits. Responsibilities include reviewing engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing work instructions for clarity, accuracy, and manufacturability; serving as the final authority on product acceptability based on inspection results and technical specifications; and developing, implementing, and maintaining inspection and control plans, PPAP, FAI, in‑process, and final inspection activities. The role requires programming and operating CMMs, FaroArms, and blue‑light/3D scanners to capture and validate part and assembly dimensions, performing routine CMM maintenance, ensuring timely software updates (e.g., Calypso), and maintaining secure data storage and backups. The engineer will maintain accurate measurement data, inspection records, and quality notifications within ERP/SAP systems; lead NCR and CAR processes; conduct root‑cause analysis using 8D, 5‑Why, Fishbone, and other methodologies; verify corrective‑action implementation and evaluate long‑term effectiveness. Additional duties include performing MSA (Gage R&R) and process‑capability studies, driving continuous‑improvement initiatives to reduce defects, waste, and cost, providing technical support to production and engineering teams, and delivering quality‑awareness training. The position also involves mentoring early‑career engineers, inspectors, and production personnel on inspection techniques, quality standards, and compliance.
