Job Description

Axalta has remained at the forefront of the coatings industry by continually investing in innovative solutions. We engineer technologies that protect customers’ products – whether they are battling heat, light, corrosion, abrasion, moisture, or chemicals – and add dimension and beauty with colourful finishes. We have a vast and ever-evolving portfolio of brands primed to play an important part in everything from modernizing infrastructure around the world to enabling the next generation of electric and autonomous vehicles.

Quality Engineer (m/f/d) – Liquid Coatings

We are looking for a Quality Engineer (m/f/d) – Liquid Coatings who is responsible for maintaining and continuously improving site quality performance and the Quality Management System (QMS). The role ensures robust end-to-end quality processes across production and warehouse operations at Huthwait, driving product, process, and service excellence. The position plays a key role in improving customer satisfaction, reducing cost of poor quality, and embedding a strong quality culture across the site.

Your responsibilities

  • Maintain and continuously improve the site Quality Management System (QMS) in alignment with ISO 9001.
  • Lead internal audits, management reviews, and all site audit‑readiness activities.
  • Drive RCFA, CAPA, and FMEA initiatives across production and warehouse operations.
  • Analyse internal and external quality incidents and implement sustainable corrective actions.
  • Lead quality improvement projects aligned with site, regional, and global priorities.
  • Support the rollout and adherence to global quality standards across the Liquid Coatings network.
  • Manage quality KPIs, reporting, and performance reviews, ensuring data accuracy and follow‑up.
  • Support customer audits, quality inquiries, and Quality Assurance Agreements (QAAs).
  • Oversee incoming goods inspection, supplier complaint follow‑up, and QC equipment calibration.
  • Promote a strong site-wide quality culture and support training on quality tools and methodologies.

Qualifications needed

  • Strong background in Quality Engineering or Quality Management.
  • Solid knowledge of ISO 9001; exposure to IATF/VDA is an advantage.
  • Experience in manufacturing environments—ideally coatings, chemicals, or similar industries.
  • Green Belt certification (desirable).
  • Strong analytical skills including trend analysis, Pareto evaluation, and defect reduction.
  • Proven ability to lead RCFA, CAPA, FMEA, and MSA activities.
  • Skilled communicator with the ability to influence stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering measurable quality improvements.
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Excellent planning, organisational, and conflict‑management skills.
