Alloy Engineering, a 100% employee-owned company in Berea, Ohio, is hiring an Engineering & Quality Manager to lead engineering, quality, welding documentation, customer satisfaction, and manufacturing support for custom metal fabrication projects.
This hands-on leadership role is for a manufacturing engineering or quality leader who can translate customer specifications into clear production and inspection requirements while supporting engineered-to-order products, ASME requirements, corrective actions, nonconformance management, and shop-floor execution.
· Lead engineering and quality teams supporting custom metal fabrication, welding, inspection, and manufacturing operations.
· Support compliance with ISO 9001 quality systems, nonconformance reviews, corrective actions, customer quality issues, audits, and documentation.
· Translate customer specifications, drawings, and quality requirements into clear internal standards for engineering, inspection, welding, and production teams.
· Provide leadership oversight for Alloy’s ASME-related requirements, welding procedure documentation, technical reviews, and quality activities.
· Partner with customers, operations, production, sales, purchasing, and project management to resolve technical and quality issues and support customer satisfaction.
· Improve manufacturability, reduce rework, strengthen processes, and support on-time project execution.
·Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, manufacturing engineering, welding engineering, industrial engineering, quality engineering, or a related technical field required.
· 5+ years or more years of progressive engineering or quality experience in a manufacturing environment.
· Experience with custom metal fabrication, welding, engineered-to-order manufacturing, or low-volume/high-mix production.
· Working knowledge of ISO 9001, quality systems, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and nonconformance management.
· Ability to read engineering drawings, customer specifications, technical standards, and quality requirements.
· ASME, welding codes, WPS, PQR, WPQ, ERP, CAD, or document control experience preferred.

Certifications
Alloy Engineering is a certified ASME Code Section I and Section VIII, Division I fabrication shop. Our welders are Certified AWS D1.1 and ASME Section IX. Our staff includes two certified AWS-CWI inspectors, one AWS-SCWI inspector and two AWS-CWS supervisors. Several members of our Quality Assurance Department are also certified in various NDT (nondestructive testing) processes per ASNT SNT TC-1a.
With these certifications, Alloy Engineering can develop all necessary or required weld procedures, depending on the application, to produce the highest quality welded, fabricated product and certify 100% compliance.
