How you will make an Impact (Job Summary)

SPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact. As a Quality Engineer – Summer Intern 2027, you will support quality activities, documentation, internal audits, and corrective action efforts while working with a cross-functional team to prepare policies, processes, and procedures for the revised ISO 9001:2026 standard.

What you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)

While each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:

1. Quality Systems and Documentation
2. • Provide support for the development and implementation of quality activities and procedures to meet the requirements of the ISO 9001:2026 standard.
3. • Develop, revise, apply, and maintain quality procedures, quality plans, and related documents.
4. • Support coordination of revisions to policies, processes, and procedures to meet the requirements of the revised ISO 9001 standard.
5. Cross-Functional Quality Projects
6. • Work with a cross-functional team to support quality system updates related to the revised ISO 9001 standard.
7. • Collaborate with personnel at Brentwood, Cuba, and Monroe City.
8. • Assist with ISO internal quality audits.
9. Root Cause and Corrective Action Support
10. • Assist teams with root cause analysis and development of corrective actions.
11. • Support corrective action activities related to internal and external quality issues.

Required Experience

• No prior experience required.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Effective human relations skills, including good listening ability and the capability to work well with others to implement change.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office programs.

Education & Certifications

• Actively pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality Engineering, or a related field.
• No certifications required.

Travel & Working Environment

• Hybrid role based in Brentwood, with collaboration with personnel at Brentwood, Cuba, and Monroe City.
• Occasional or seldom travel may be required; less than 10%.
