Quality Engineer

Mitsubishi Power is hiring a Quality Engineer in the Savannah, GA location. The Quality Engineer is responsible for utilizing industry standard quality management principles for improvement of manufacturing and service operations in order to meet customer product and service requirements. Additionally this role supports Mitsubishi Power Quality Management System (QMS) processes and communications ensuring customer and corporate satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrates our core competencies: Action oriented, change champion, customer-focused, developing self & others, and ownership
  • Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Lead or support part and process qualifications.
  • Analyze data to reduce non-conformances and streamline processes.
  • Develop and approve inspection plans; perform inspections as needed.
  • Monitor inspection methods and calibration activities to ensure compliance.
  • Review customer/supplier inspection and test plans for feasibility.
  • Generate and maintain quality procedures, specifications, and documentation in support of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Track and report quality metrics; manage Quality Notifications (QNs) through closure.
  • Support quality audits, surveillance, and training initiatives.
  • Promote innovation and continuous improvement within the organization.
  • Maintain document control and archival systems for quality records.
  • Ensure adherence to metrological standards and inspection protocols.
  • Foster cross-functional teamwork to meet company and customer goals.
  • Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
  • Uphold confidentiality, honesty, and integrity in all professional activities.
  • Participate in safety programs and report unsafe conditions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree (BS) in a technical discipline from four-year college or university is preferred. A high school diploma or equivalent and 1 to 3 years of experience in a mechanical component manufacturing environment are required.
  • Proficient in basic and advanced mathematics, including algebra, statistics, and data analysis techniques (e.g., frequency distribution, ANOVA, correlation, sampling theory).
  • Skilled in interpreting technical data, diagrams, and complex instructions; capable of solving abstract and concrete problems through data-driven conclusions.
  • Competent in creating and interpreting graphs, calculating rates, ratios, and percentages.
  • Experienced with databases, spreadsheets, word processing, project management tools, statistical software, and technical diagramming applications.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a permanent basis and must not require employer immigration sponsorship, now or in the future.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% by land or air as required.
