Job Description

Responsibilites

Massy Wood is currently recruiting for a Quality Engineer with extensive experience in the oil and gas petrochemical industry.

The Quality Engineer is responsible for ensuring quality is embedded within project delivery, inclusive of FEED, detail design, procurement, construction, commissioning and start up. The incumbent will be responsible for planning and executing various assurances activities to support continual improvement, incident prevention, incident management, risk management, LL sharing, Non-conformance management, subcontractor management, FWP/CWP/IWP support, Construction readiness and general awareness of the Massy Wood’s QMS.

  • Evaluate through Internal Audit program the compliances of Engineering, Procurement and Construction Departments where necessary.
  • Monitoring of the review, distribution and revision of procedures and processes.
  • Monitors implementation of corrective actions in response to the identification of nonconforming products/services through QA/QC Audits or otherwise, until the unsatisfactory condition has been rectified.
  • Conduct Corporative Internal Audits.
  • Review with all Field Supervisors and Inspectors the correct reporting of all Construction projects, with reference to applicable codes and standards/procedures Contribute to the achievement of ISO 9001 certification of Massy WG’s Management system.
  • Assist in the maintenance, documentation and deployment of the Company’s quality management system, client guidance practices and standards.
  • Coordinate, supervise and manage the overall QA/QC support activities to Construction and technical support teams.
  • Supporting with the client Quality representatives in order to address Quality topics.
  • Review work procedures and method statements for compliance with good work practices and the customers contract specializations.
  • Conduct Engineering Audits to verify conformance to Massy Wood Engineering and Design procedures as per agreed schedule.
  • Facilitate Engineering LL at the various stages, FEED, Detailed Design.
  • Review Engineering Data for equipment procurement.
  • Ensure Quality Requirements are included at the MR stage (Criticality Ranking, Certification, PSTS requirements).
  • Review vendor documents for conformance against MR requirements for engineered purchases.
  • Provides technical assistance to package Engineers as it relates to Quality Assurance of engineered purchases.
  • Quality Interface with the SQS Inspector.
  • Conduct Inter Discipline Checks.
  • Supports TIV data capture and reporting
  • Supports DEM1 data capture and reporting
  • NCR data capture, analysis & trending.
  • Lead Quality Culture Work Shops.
  • Support Risk Management initiatives on the contract.
  • Conduct RCA investigations.
  • Supports Massy Wood Integrated Audit programme.
  • Supports Quality and Contract surveillances and audits.
  • Actively promote Shell’s “No Defect” Mindset
  • Liaises with the Organization Team Leaders in the coordination of all Internal Quality Audits as per approved schedule.
  • Coordinate relationship with subcontracted companies to ensure compliance between subcontracted services and Company/Client best practices.
  • Liaises with HSSE representatives (internal, client & external) to encourage the Safety Performance and safe behaviour, ensure inherent compliance of maintenance documentation with Company and Client’s safety standards.
  • Responsible for the Subcontractor QA training and Quality inductions session with Subcontractors and Suppliers.
  • Performs all other related job functions as required.

Qualifications

Education & Formal Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognised institution in the field of Engineering or related discipline.
  • Certification in Quality (must be based on ISO 9001) from a recognised Institution. (e.g. CQE or higher)- mandatory.
  • Certified Lead Quality Auditor certification from a recognised Quality Professional Body - mandatory

Competencies & Experience

  • A minimum of four (4) years’ experience in a similar position.
  • Knowledge and experience leading audits on Quality Management Systems based on ISO 9001:2008
  • Excellent communications and presentation skills.
  • Acute attention to detail.
  • Ability to work effectively and prioritize in a high performance, fast-paced work environment
  • Ability to work effectively with minimum supervision.
  • Inspires and motivates others to work well and accepts feedback.
  • Seeks ways to improve and promote quality and demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Proficient in Computer Applications including word processing and spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent computer skills with experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid Certificate of Good Character (must not be older than 6 months).
  • Preference will be given to national citizens or permanent residents of Trinidad & Tobago.
