Job Description

Eaton’s IS VEH VGNA division is currently seeking a Quality Engineer (APQP).

Eaton announced, on January 26, 2026, the intent to separate its Mobility Group (including both the Vehicle and eMobility segments) into an independent, publicly traded company. We expect to complete the separation by the end of the first quarter of 2027. The compensation and benefits that will initially be offered for this position are based on Eaton's plans, programs and practices. If you are offered and accept this position and are actively employed by the Mobility Group when the spinoff closes, the new company will provide further details to employees concerning compensation and benefits at that time.

What you’ll do:

PRIMARY FUNCTION / FUNCION PRIMARIA:

Ensure compliance with PPAP runs and new projects introduced to the plant, as well monitoring during pre-PPAP until customer approval. Also ensure compliance with the customer requirements in each PPAP run. Coordinate the activities of the execution of PPAP runs on the production line and coordinate the activities with the entire multidisciplinary team to meet the customer timeline.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS / FUNCIONES ESENCIALES:

• Partner with project manager to assure the successful implementation of the new process, product or machine.
• Lead the cross functional team to assure the quality targets of the project are met.
• Lead quality planning, support and guidance on all equipment installs, runoffs, PPAP’s, and start of production rampup. Including MSA’s, capability studies, process control plans, etc.
• Follow up on the planning and implementation of measurement gages and other inspection methods, as required by the final print and or control plan.
• Coordinate the development of quality documentation, and supporting certifications, required to guarantee the correct operation of the new process, product or machine.
• Lead all activities related to PPAP approvals, submission and status at customer portal.
• Interact with Eaton divisional engineering as required to resolve characteristic manufacturing capabilities.
• Coordinate the assessment and analysis of the process capability, MSA, process control plans and process audits.
• Provide technical quality support to both internal and external customers and suppliers as needed.
• Work with manufacturing engineering to develop new processes to improve the quality of our parts and develop production tools or tooling fixtures to improve capability and/or reduce cost.
• Lead internal or external corrective actions, started on the launch phase, using systematic problem-solving techniques.
• Work with multidisciplinary team to continuously develop and update PFMEA and CP.
• Coordinate the Problem solving, and lesson learned for each PPAP run (Main defects)

Qualifications:

Education and Skills required to meet position qualifications:
• Bachelor Degree: Engineering
• 1-3 Years Quality process knowledge

• Conversational English Skills
• Presentation and facilitation knowledge
• Self-Motivated individual who is organized and capable of collaborating with various stakeholders to achieve assigned projects and tasks
• Understanding of AIAG tools, auditing, statistical tools, and analysis
o Problem Solving
o Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA)
o MSA
o Process Capability
o Control Plans
o Gage Plans
o Run@Rate
o Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) requirements

Preferred Specialized Knowledge (not required to be qualified for position):
• Prior experience working with root-cause methodology and process improvement
• Prior experience working in a manufacturing setting
• APQP and PPAP experience.
• Prior experience with statistical software (ex. Minitab)
• Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification
• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, assembly processes, equipment technology, and equipment capability
• Manufacturing Process Knowledge of:
o Forging, Machining, Grinding, Heat Treat, Coatings, Assembly, Welding, Inspection equipment
