We are on a journey of continuous growth – now looking for our next star – a passionate Quality Engineer within our Operations capability. This position reports to Director of Quality and will work onsite in our Elkhart, IN facility.

About the position

The Quality Engineer works cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Supply Chain, Product Management, Distribution, and Customer Service to identify quality risks, implement corrective actions, and ensure compliance with Dometic quality standards and customer requirements. The successful candidate will be a hands-on problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and uses data-driven decision making to improve processes and eliminate recurring quality issues.

Your main responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day quality support for manufacturing operations with primary focus on investigation of quality concerns and facilitating timely resolution.
• Investigate customer complaints and warranty-related concerns and lead containment activities and corrective actions. Coordinate customer quality issues and communication as required.
• Support OEM field issue investigations and quality reporting activities.
• Drive root cause analysis using structured methodologies including 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone, and corrective action disciplines.
• Maintain and report monthly performance metrics and analyze performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities.
• Participate in new product launches by supporting APQP, PFMEA, and Control Plan development.
• Review and approve quality documentation, inspection standards, and work instructions.
• Support engineering changes, product introductions, and part verification activities and provide technical support in the development and standardization of quality assurance aspects of new products.
• Conduct product evaluations, failure analysis, and disposition activities.
• Perform internal audits, process audits, and product audits to verify quality system compliance.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to support operational and business objectives.
• Provide backup support for key segment quality functions.

The ideal candidate for this role will bring demonstrated success in Quality. Additionally, they will have the following desired skills and characteristics:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Technology, Quality, Manufacturing, or related technical discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience in manufacturing quality.
• Experience with root cause analysis and corrective action systems.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and quality reporting tools.
• ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) preferred.
• Experience with PPAP, APQP, and product launch processes preferred.
• Working knowledge of ISO 9001 quality systems preferred.
