Legacy Talent Search is currently seeking candidates for a Quality Engineer role in Biddeford, ME. Our client is a well-established industry leader known for innovation, precision, and delivering world-class manufacturing solutions. With a strong commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and customer satisfaction, they are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to support and enhance quality systems across the organization while ensuring compliance with customer and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:

· Serve as the primary quality point of contact for assigned customers, supporting onsite and virtual meetings while ensuring timely communication of quality data and information.
· Coordinate quality requirements with suppliers to ensure proper flow-down of customer specifications and assist with supplier qualification and issue resolution.
· Develop, maintain, and improve quality management systems to meet customer, regulatory, certification, and validation requirements.
· Support quality activities throughout the contract review and proposal process.
· Lead and participate in continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA), PFMEA, Statistical Process Control (SPC), APQP, Manufacturing Quality Plans (MQP), and Process Flow Diagrams.
· Ensure product sampling, quality inspections, traceability, and quality control processes are implemented throughout the manufacturing process.
· Recommend and justify capital improvements that enhance product quality and manufacturing processes.
· Support the implementation and expansion of electronic Quality Management System (eQMS) applications, including process documentation, employee training, and ongoing system support.
· Review customer and internal engineering drawings, communicating required revisions to key stakeholders.
· Participate in Engineering Change Notifications (ECNs), configuration management, and document control activities.
· Support and maintain the Quality Management System, including supplier management, auditing, and AS9100 compliance.
· Lead or participate in Material Review Board (MRB) meetings and investigations involving customer or internal non-conformances.
· Assist with commissioning new manufacturing facilities by translating customer requirements into standardized, repeatable manufacturing processes.
· Promote and participate in company-wide Lean Manufacturing, continuous improvement, and workplace safety initiatives.

Qualifications:

· Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Materials Engineering, or a closely related field.
· 5+ years of Quality Engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
· Strong knowledge of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T), and quality assurance methodologies.
· Experience working directly with customers and suppliers to resolve quality concerns and improve performance.
· Familiarity with electronic Quality Management Systems (eQMS).
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present technical information effectively.
· Experience leading cross-functional teams in identifying and resolving manufacturing quality issues.
· Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and Total Quality Management (TQM) principles.
· Proficient with Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.
· Strong understanding of quality systems, auditing, document control, and manufacturing best practices.
· Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with composites manufacturing or advanced manufacturing processes.
· Knowledge of machining, testing, and inspection methods.
· Familiarity with ISO 9001 and AS9100 Quality Management Systems.
· ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Certified Quality Technician (CQT).
· Lean or Six Sigma Green Belt (or higher) certification.
