Scope of Position

  • Ensuring ongoing compliance to customer requirements, industry standards, and regulations through the use and enforcement of quality management systems such as internal audits, corrective actions, documentation control, risk management, inspection, disposition of non-conforming product, customer complaints, and supplier quality management. The position may be involved with issues across the supply chain from suppliers, through plant manufacturing and contract manufacturing, to the customer.
  • Provide Quality Engineering support for continuous improvement, change management, and cost reduction projects across the plant, including statistical analysis and reporting as needed, facilitating the use of Performance Excellence tools, and driving the creation of a product quality architecture.

Day to Day Responsibilities

  • Led supplier quality activities to ensure compliance with ISO 9001, customer, regulatory and company requirements.
  • Facilitate corrective and preventive actions for issues both internal to the plant and for supplier / vendor complaints.
  • Support the supplier qualification process as well as ongoing supplier management by coordinating with GSM, monitoring metrics, and communicating with suppliers.
  • Provide support for Customer questionnaires and surveys, certifications, quality information requests, customer complaints, and supplier corrective action reports.
  • Provide quality engineering support for the QC inspection group on non-conforming product disposition, metrology questions, and improvements to the inspection process.

Required Education & Experience

  • BS/MS Degree in Engineering or Science preferred and or transferable experience
  • 7+ years of experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, and/or Quality, preferably in an ISO 9001 or AS9100 certified location.

Required Skills

  • Methodical, data-based decision-making skills with the ability to use this data in proactively finding solutions.
  • Understanding of basic statistical and data analysis concepts and their application in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships with customers, suppliers, and co-workers (other locations).
  • Knowledge of ISO management system and quality assurance.
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

Desired Skills

  • Strong process management skills, such as thorough application of documented procedures.
  • Experience with Performance Excellence, Six Sigma training/certifications.
  • Experience in performing internal audits.
  • Experience with data collection and data analysis software and techniques, such as Excel, Minitab, SPC XL, PI, Power BI, or others.
  • Experience with Nadcap accreditation and/or AS9100 certification.
  • ASQ Certified Quality Engineer (CQE) or Supplier Quality Professional (CSQP)

Hours of work/work schedule/flextime

  • Flex time: typical minimum schedule is Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm.
  • Some projects may require additional hours, supporting nights or weekends.

The range for this position is $91,649.00 - $126,018.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
